Great Family Vacation Location!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed unit 27 as there was plenty of space for our children and family to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. I didn't expect a view of the ocean due to the location of the unit but we actually had a partial ocean view off the balcony. This is a very family oriented facility as they had live music at the pool, movie night and smores for the kids. I highly recommend this unit for a family vacation!

Overpriced and badly needs an update

I had not been to “old Destin” in several years and was excited to be back. I was disappointed. This property does not appear to have been updated in decades. The quality is really poor for the price you pay.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo was dirty , very difficult to get to beach as there is a large grass area to walk through unless u want to walk through parking lot to get to beach ! Loud music all night until security was called 3 times after midnight ! Stove was filthy, and when turned on to cook it smoked hot the whole condo smoking and fire alarms go off ! Loud gate noises all night long, long shag carpet was filthy , made socks black when walking on it ! Beach was beautiful as always , zero view of the beach ! And listing this as a penthouse is a outright lie !but condo was in need of some major overhauling - and for 2k plus dollars i very much expected more !

Patio doors and shower doors need repaired or replaced, difficult to use. Garage disposal was jammed. Swimming pool was very nice. Exercise room was useless. Front desk and maintenance men were very polite.

Silver Dunes Destin - Always a good get-away

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at Silver Dunes annually for many years. Several of those years have been in Unit 27, which is a fine unit. AC works well, which is important. The town of Destin is quite busy, but Silver Dunes allows one to escape that.

We just as much fun at Silver Dunes in 2019 as we had when we were there as kids in the 1980’s!

Disappointing

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Unit 27 was very disappointing, especially considering the price we paid for it. It was apparent that no upkeep had happened during the pandemic months. There was paint missing from the entryway; the front door of the kitchen refrigerator was filthy; the overflow drain kept falling out of the tub in the master bathroom; the sliding doors did not stay on track and therefore did not open very well; and the beds were extremely uncomfortable. I have very fond memories of Silver Dunes, but this unit makes me never want to stay at this condo complex again.

Going back to our old Condo #27

Grounds really looked good as well as the new resurfaced Tennis courts. Beach service was excellent. Chris, Craig and their staff at the new Beach Service were fantastic and were on top of everything. Umbrella sets were put up early and looked great.The staff was also very professional and friendly. The new staff which we hadn't met before were just great. Derek, Amber, Andy and Mary Lou seemed to go out of their way to make the guests feel at home. Things seemed to run a lot smoother than in the past.
