LES PAPILLONS GITE EXTERIOR...
This pretty traditional stone cottage has a private balcony with a table and chairs, with views of the forest covered hills, it’s the ideal place to watch the hot air balloons pass in the early evening and the starry sky at nightfall.
The gite's large private courtyard is equipped with tables and chairs and a coal barbecue, and the garden beyond has a picnic table.
There are additional lawns shared with two other gites, where you will find a large swimming pool surrounded by sun loungers and parasols, and a children's play area.
LES PAPILLONS GITE INTERIOR...
Enter from the courtyard into a large bright kitchen with a glass door leading to the balcony. A second door leads to the dining room and living area, with wooden floors and original beams. A bright and fresh area with a comfortable layout.
The traditional thick stone walls, shutters and ceiling fans keep it cool in summer, and there is a large wood burning stove for cosy and atmospheric winter stays.
There is also a cloak room, and ground floor bathroom with a shower, toilet and washbasin.
There are two bedrooms upstairs with original roof beams to the peak, ceiling fans, black out blinds, and electric heaters.
The first bedroom has two beds (90x200) which can be pushed together. The second bedroom has a king-size bed (160x200) and a small bathroom with a bath, washbasin and a toilet.
A double sofa-bed is available in the living room on request.
Free wifi, Android TV, English free-sat tv, french tv, games, books, DVDs.
Towels and sheets provided.
Pets welcome on request.
Cot and high chair available on request.
There is a folder inside the gite with information on nearby attractions, activities and restaurants.

THE SURROUNDINGS...
The cottage is set in a quiet location, just outside of the bastille town of Domme, and 15 minutes from the medieval city of Sarlat.
Domme is just a 15-20 minute walk from the gites, or 3 minutes by car, where you will find numerous bars, restaurants, tourist shops, a small patisserie, a Casino Contact (small supermarket), a cash machine, and a post office.
Domme is a tourist attraction in itself, being officially classed as one of 'the most beautiful villages of France'. It offers a magnificent 180 degree view point across the Dordogne valley, a stalactite cave system with a glass lift looking out over the river, tours of the medieval gate towers which imprisoned the Knights Templars, and beautiful public gardens and footpaths around the ancient town walls.

The scenic views are breath-taking, and the magnificent architecture documents the area's fascinating history, with a chateau around almost every corner.
Nearby attractions include sites officially listed as 'The most beautiful villages of France' including Domme, La Roque Gageac built into the cliffs, Castelnaud, Beynac, and don't forget our famous town of Sarlat and the beautiful gardens of Marqueyssac... And much more, all within a 20 minute drive!
