Bright and cheery, with plenty of vintage charm, Lakewalk House was clean, cozy, and a great location for biking (directly next to the bike path!). Sarah and Seth are friendly and responsive hosts. Donât miss a meal at the brewery next door!
Had a great stay. Host was quick to respond to questions and very welcoming. Nice having Brewery/eatery right next door. Would definitely recommend to others.
Nice simple house had everything we needed for the weekend. Nice that we could walk to the brewery each evening. Quiet neighborhood. Only thing missing was a voucher for a complimentary pint at the brewery. I believe the brewery owns the house. Could be wrong about that.
The pictures aren't truly representative; the property is more dingy than the photos represent and furniture laid out different. It was clean although dated, and some finishes were quite worn, such as wallcovering and carpet. Completely adequate although not quite the cozy getaway we expected, it felt more like a functional place to crash for people exploring the city. Note no dishwasher, and dishes must be hand-washed at checkout. One small bathroom, upstairs, shared by all guests.
My friendâs and I had such a nice stay, and were pleased to find out that Sarah would let us stay there while only being 18. The house was so cute with its 1910 charm. We were also pleasantly surprised to find out that one of the futonâs was switched out with a bed, and had curtains to add some privacy. One thing to note that because of the age of the house the stairs are more narrow and steep than usual ones, but we were just more careful. Overall such a great stay and Iâd 100% recommend!
Didnât know that we were right behind the brewery. It was the quiet side however. Right next to train tracks but no trains came by. Very nice property.
Long Weekend With Old Friends + Cozy Home = Great Memories
Cozy home that has all the basics needed. The flowers in the outside garden were fabulous and the cozy deck was perfect for catching up with friends on a pleasant Duluth summer evening. Slight difficulty with getting the door code before arrival but that was easily fixed. The location is good for both a day visit into the city and a day travel up the North Coast. The couches are not comfortable but the quiet deck with seating for 4 was perfect to relax in and enjoy great conversation. There are some issues with a few of the doors not being able to latch (i.e. the bathroom and one of the bedrooms). Overall it is not pristine but cozy. If you appreciate old homes with character this is a nice place to stay for a short visit.
We had a lovely time in this home! The kitchen was well supplied, and and natural light was amazing throughout the house. We appreciated being within walking distance of Lester Park and the Lake Walk as well as Lake Superior. It was easy to get to other places in Duluth as well. In warmer weather, the back sunroom and deck would be great places to hang out. My only hiccupâand itâs a small oneâis that the living room furniture is less than comfortable (dining room not fantastic either). The comfy beds, though, were terrific, especially after a full day of hiking. We felt at home and enjoyed our stay.
