Owner and his son were really helpful. We arrived late and left early, but will come back for a more leisurely stay as it was so welcoming and our room was lovely.
Lovely, cosy hotel. Owners and staff super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was beautifully cooked and catered for vegetarian options. Our room was so comfortable and warm.
Situated in a hushed, picturesque village, the hotel provided a fantastic base to explore Exmoor

Bed was very comfortable. Tv on the small side. Shower not very powerful
Clean but dated room. Quiet location and free street parking. Dulverton has some lovely shops and places to eat. Ate in hotel at night on excellent fixed price menu. Breakfast was freshly cooked as well. Hood beers at bar although wine a tad expensive. Family run hotel and a warm welcome and attentive service. Friendly place to stay with a comfy bed.
Lovely and clean and friendly staff. Decor could do with an update and the bed was a bit hit and miss but understandable in these older world properties. Breakfast was very nice too

Overnight stop off on way to Cornwall after a days fishing, ideal.
Decent accommodation in a beautiful village on Exmoor. The bed was comfortable and the full English breakfast very good as well. I had no problem parking just outside on the street. I liked the feeling of staying in a family-run hotel and they were all friendly and helpful. Would return!
Sadly when I arrived I was dismayed to discover that the bar and restaurant in the hotel were closed for renovation,it might have been better to know this before arriving after a 5 hour train journey.
The owners did offer to make me a meal and that was kind but when I mentioned I needed to leave at 7:30 in the morning to get the train home I was informed that breakfast wasn’t served until 8!!
I was able to, make a coffee in my room. Perhaps a reduction on the bill might have been appropriate but it wasn’t offered.
The bathroom in my room was very basic and the room was far too hot, the windows were streaming with condensation, the bed was comfy and the bed linen was nice but sadly that’s about it.
Friendly enough, pleasant staff. But this place is in desperate need of some renovations and a deep clean (downstairs especially) and new carpets (?) to remove the funky smell, which was not good. But lots of potential!

Weekend treat
This is an old building and part of the charm of the village. A lovely breakfast and welcome. The room was spacious and warm. The hotel does need refurbishment and some decoration but it is central and close to the shops and restaurants
Characterful inn, friendly welcome and service, pretty village with good walking.

The staff were lovely and really helpful. The bedroom and other facilities were a little dated and need a bit of a revamp but it was clean.

Disliked: Cleanliness
Check in was a bit of a mix up despite having checked in online the day before. However, was resolved fairly quickly.
The hotel is not modern but perfectly acceptable for an overnight stay. The room and bathroom needed a thorough spring clean. The bed was very clean and comfortable and towels were excellent. The tv was only marginally bigger than a computer monitor.
Alas, the restaurant was closed due to the chef being on holiday which I was only advised of by email and advised to seek alternatives when checking in. By this time the restaurant next-door was fully booked and had to settle for fish and chip takeaway. Breakfast was OK but the table was not prepared properly.
Absolutely lovely staff. Made to feel very welcome. Very helpful and friendly. Very comfortable bed. Fabulous breakfast. Very good location. Very poor wifi in room. The decor in the room could do with a freshen up but it had everything I needed and the water was nice and hot for a bath.
We've been before and came back again for the fabulous breakfast and warm welcome! A wonderful family-run establishment. Looking forward to returning again soon.
