We loved the cabin and it's close vicinity to both Lake Vallecito and Durango. We spent our time enjoying both the lake and the local activities. The drive to Silverton was scenic and beautiful! The cabin was everything we expected from the pictures and description of the cabin. We enjoyed grilling in the evening on the Weber grill and spent our mornings on the front porch taking in the breath-taking views. We will definitely make plans to return!
Me and my husband loved this cabin! We came to Durango for our honeymoon and this was the perfect place for us. It was cozy and rustic but also had very modern amenities like the tv, kitchen appliances, and bathroom. I will say the pictures are a little misleading for rhe location because it makes it look remote but there are other cabins nearby. This isn't a huge downside, though. The location is about 20-25 minutes to Durango which I didnt mind driving because the roads are great and the scenery is gorgeous. Communication was great with the owners as well. I also loved that the kitchen was stocked with spices and other essentials like oil and cooking spray. Also stocked great with utensils, pans, dishware and cutlery. The internet was fast as well which was wonderful. My husband and I had a wonderful time and loved coming back to the cavin every night.
I must start by saying that we enjoyed our stay here & would absolutely return. The location is beautiful. The cabin is lovely. Waking in the morning to sit on the front porch with only mountains to accompany you was glorious. Very little sound from the mountain hwy nearby.Issues: We had a difficulty with the instructions for finding "Treasure Island". We did find it after messaging with management. Essentially -- find #189 on the same road -- you have to cross the little bridge over the river, take your first left & the trail is at the end of that little road. The "garage" repeatedly mentioned in the instructions is the garage of #189. Super confusing! The wifi password provided was not accurate & we had to communicate with management to get a working password. We found dirty dishes and towels upon check-in. We communicated with management, they apologized, and we returned from that days' adventures to find two boxes with brand new towels had been left on the front porch swing. I don't usually use towels without washing them, but we didn't have a choice. No action was taken on the dirty dishes, so we just washed them. The queen size bed in the second bedroom is very squeaky. It's an antique bedframe and has no boxspring. This bed was not comfortable at all for the one person who slept there. The king size bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable for the two people who slept there. Even with the few minor issues we had, we would stay here again.
Quiet, clean, very comfortable, updated, spacious, lovely log cabin! Comfy beds! Easy 20 mins drive to Durango. Great dirt road neighborhood! The "treasure island" is a neighborhood picnic spot between two clean babbling brooks and it is about a 3-4 min walk away. It has small trail and you will love the sound of the two creeks running amongst the pines, so relaxing!
We came to the area looking at a cabin of our own. This was such a lovely place to stay. Very warm and cozy. It was in the 20s outside. Amenities excellent. Will book again!
This is a fantastic property. The cabin looks very rustic which is the appeal of it but it has all the conveniences you need. The cabin is very clean and the beds are very comfortable. IIIwoulcamansilverton,ouTelluride
This cabin was super clean. The King sized bed and provided pillows were very comfortable (we did not use the bed in the other room). All of the appliances worked perfectly. The cabin was located in a residential neighborhood with well maintained dirt/gravel roads to walk along, and the beautiful Florida River flowed through the neighborhood. We enjoyed daily walks and met several nice neighbors. Linens and towels were good quality. There was plenty of toilet paper, paper towels, dishwashing soap, clothes detergent, as well as a starter pack of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc. We had brought our Netflix password, so were able to watch some movies at night. The wifi worked great, and though the website said cell service was poor, we had no trouble making or receiving calls. My husband is in construction, so was very impressed with the construction of the log cabin - very well built and maintained. And lastly, communication with the property management was superior - good access and immediate response to any inquiries we had. Very nice property. We are thinking of going again!
Nicely decorated and immaculate. Comfortable bed and living area. The cabin felt cozy and warm. Overall, a welcoming environment. Great for my husband, myself and our two dogs. Would stay again in a heartbeat! Thank you.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely property. It was immaculately clean and well appointed. It is convenient to town and the drive is beautiful. My husband and I have had an exhausting year and this home provided us with the respite that we needed away from the hustle and bustle of our lives back in Dallas TX. I would highly recommend this property as great vacation get away.
Charming cabin-needed a few repairs( note was left). VRBO listing stated we would have a sample of local coffee ( no coffee found). VRBO listing stated cabin would have Kleenex. I have allergies and had to drive 20 minutes on mountain roads to purchase Kleenex. We cleaned up after ourselves daily- all towels were laundered before we left. Only sheets had to be washed. We washed and put away all kitchen items. We followed all discharge instructions. We picked up after OUR pet but watched the NEIGHBORS black lab come onto the rental property to do his business with NO neighbor supervision! I don't go on vacation to pick up after someone else's pet!
Beautiful..Owner didnt miss anything as if he or she were staying there themselves!
We enjoyed Every Moment and our Golden Retriever Loved it too..
Thank you R And S
Cozy and clean cabin! Very nice quit neighborhood. Only complaint is could use a new kitchen trash can. Also, they were very accommodating for our pets. Would definitely stay there again!
This charming log cabin exceeded our expectations! Our stay in August 2023 was amazing! Authentic and beautifully clean log cabin, within 20 minutes from Durango, easy 5 minute walk to the beautiful Florida creek in the neighborhood, FULLY equipped kitchen which was stocked with many extras, COMFORTBLE king sized and queen sized beds, nice amenities in the bathroom with a full-sized shower, wonderful open front porch, tasteful cabin decorations throughout, full fireplace inside plus a Weber grill area outside with a fully stocked wood pile (which we did not use - due to the current burn ban 8/2023), full sized fridge, full sized range/oven, full sized washer and dryer units, lovely dining area with a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains, large living area with tons of games for the family, quiet and respectful neighbors on the private road leading up to the cabin. This cabin and the area were perfect for our stay. Highly recommend!
The cabin was very clean and fully stocked in the kitchen with what ever you may need. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, especially the king bed in the master bedroom. Although the property is a good size and close to a river, there is no access to the river. There is no fishing on the river anywhere close the cabin. It is also next to the main road which was noisey at times. Overall, it was a lovely home.
