Very spacious cabin, my partner and I enjoyed every second being there. The hot tub was amazing and the house was one of the most well stocked places we have been at so far. Beautiful property, I highly recommend.

Spruce Mesa Cabin

This was the absolute best getaway destination. The house was wonderful, just as described and had everything we needed for the week. Plenty of room for our family of seven. With so many fun things to do in the area. Suggestions from our experience include ATV ride on alpine loop, narrow gauge railroad train ride and purgatory resort. The only suggestion that I would make is to correct the error with the dumpster lock number on the Vacasa communications. The code given was incorrect and has been an ongoing issue as a previous guest left a note at the front door with the correct code. Overall, a wonderful home that I would most definitely recommend to others.

Making the best of it!

We originally booked for my oldest nephews graduation. He grew very ill the night of graduation and was not able to make the trip he picked for his grad trip. Unfortunately it became too late to cancel so my mom, my husband, our dog and myself came anyway. And boy were we mistaken. What a beautiful house, what beautiful country!!! We made the best out of a trip that was supposed to be 7 down to 3. The house was gorgeous inside and out. Very cozy!!! Durango was cute. Mesa Verde is a must.

Purgatory Ski Vacation

The house is great, clean and spacious with a super roomy garage. Please be careful in winter to have 4WD and chains handy if needed as it's a ways off the hwy and relatively steep. Good proximity to Purgatory - about 5 miles. During our stay, we got several big snows with a 2 footer at the start - that's why the vehicle recommendation. Beautiful neighborhood with helpful and friendly neighbors should you need assistance. We would rent this place again.

Great spot close to Purgatory and 20 mins from Durango!

Lovely home with everything you need to cook and enjoy your stay. Wonderful hot tub and kitchen. Beautiful, quiet neighborhood not far from the highway. We had a lovely Thanksgiving here.

Beautiful Stay!

We had an amazing time in this cute little cabin! The views were amazing, the fireplace was perfect and the beds were clean and comfortable. We don’t normally use “public” hot tubs, but this one was extremely clean & hot with the perfect view. We loved all the extra kitchen amenities, but make sure to bring foil, olive oil(s), ziplock bags, etc… We could tell that everything provided inside the cabin was well thought out. We will be recommending this location to all of our family and friends.

Great Place!

Wonderful house in a great location north of Durango. Beautiful views of cliffs above the area. House is beautifully decorated and has everything you could possibly need for a short or longer stay. Will definitely look to stay here again when we come back!

Lovely home but....

The first thing you see when entering the property is a sign asking you to remove your shoes. It didn't give the best first impression, but it would have been more easily overlooked had the whole house not given such a penny-pinching vibe. We didn't notice the tiny jar containing exactly six dishwasher pods (we had booked six days) under the sink, so we ran to the store to buy some. We added it to our list of other items not included with the house: aluminum foil or plastic wrap (none), tissues (one half-full box), toilet paper (two rolls provided for a week's stay with six people), paper towels (one roll provided), kitchen towels (two small provided -- we spilled something the first night and soiled them both). There is one towel per person and although the hot tub easily fits six (house sleeps up to 7 people), there are only two beach towels -- use the same towel you're showering with, I guess and hope it dries overnight. (Really: if you provide beach towels, you must understand that people use them--so why only two?) Signs in the bathroom implore you not to take showers longer than absolutely necessary, and a jetted tub in the master bathroom does not work -- it is just a tub. The cleaning fees were high but the check-out list included items usually seen in places with much lower fees (run the dishwasher, take out the garbage, and start the laundry). The home was nice enough but the decor is dated, and the experience is lessened by the pervasive feeling that someone is cutting as many corners as they can get away with.

Spruce Mesa Getaway

The property was everything I expected. There is plenty of furniture on the deck for relaxing in the evening. It was quiet. Gorgeous views of a huge cliff face a few miles away. We had every dish we needed to cook and feel at home. Super comfy living room, and beds. Jacuzzi was spectacular, set under the stars. Really great trip, we were here for two nights.

Winter? Ouch.

Pack your chains if you going the winter. It’s a hill to get to the cabin. The cabin is perfect except for the hot tub not getting over 94 degrees. The management, and the staff, was proactive and very helpful, they tried to fix the hot tub but I think the heating element was going bad So we were only able to use it once. Yes I’m complaining about 94, but after some beautiful and very long hikes we needed heat. Overall an amazing deal. We would rent it again Tomorrow.

When we arrived the hot tub was not clean and water was cloudy. We called the number provided and a hot tub person couldn’t come out till the next day. He came and after the water was still cloudy and we were at the end of our stay. Other than that no issues

Nice but dangerous in winter

Our family just got back from our ski trip to purgatory and stayed in this home for 4 nights. The home was ok, a little dated and run down with some of the furniture but overall was decent for the price. My biggest warning to anyone considering staying in the winter time is that we had no idea how dangerous the road to the home could be. The day before we left we received an email saying "reminder, you must have 4x4 or chains to get to the home". I double checked the listing and it did not mention that anywhere when I booked it, so "reminder" wasn't correct. Luckily we had already decided to bring our 4x4 Jeep instead of our minivan. As we pulled into the neighborhood there was an SUV stuck in a snowbank on the side of the first hill you have to climb. I put my Jeep in 4x4 low and we did barely pass the BMW stuck in the snow. However the next morning it had snowed again during the night and the driveway to the house is so steep and icy that we slid off the driveway and got stuck in the snowbank. Again, fortunately I had chains and got out but I honestly cannot imagine going back down the hill without chains especially near the cliff sections. I feel very frustrated that there was not a stronger winter warning from the owners or property managers because if I had brought my minivan the trip would have been ruined and if I had not had chains I would have been in big trouble. Please update your listing to be more transparent about your winter guests and the true road conditions that could exist. We know there could be snow, most of us are coming to ski however this road is very treacherous in those storms and I feel that it's your responsibility to properly warn your guest. I've shared that feeling with the managers in a previous text and survey but they have not responded, that too is disappointing.

Winter wonderland!!!

Very peaceful and relaxing stay!!! Grand kid loved the snow and sledding. House was very clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay!!! Only issue was the outside barbecue grill does not heat up to full capacity, both burners only work at one level.

Perfect Winter Getaway

We came up to take our kids on The Polar Express. We were lucky enough to enjoy lots of beautiful snowfall at the cabin. The house was clean and welcoming. The kitchen was well stocked w cookware. We were grateful for the gentleman who came by and cleared snow off the porch and steps as well as the snow plows that came through to clear the roads. 4WD and good tires are a must up here in the winter. Really have no complaints. Beautiful home! We would return in a heartbeat.

What an amazing home! This was our family’s first time doing a VRBO and it was worth every penny. The home was exactly as we expected (maybe better). And the emergency 24/7 customer service answered and helped immediately when we accidentally locked ourselves out. I truly hope my family gets the chance to stay in this home again.

This home was absolutely perfect! Great location and one of the best VRBO homes we’ve ever rented!

We loved our stay at this house for our family of five. The house was super spacious and so comfortable. The location was perfect! It only took about 12 min to get to Purgatory Mountain and 25 min to get to Durango. We loved how the house was stocked in the kitchen and even had games and puzzles for us to use. Kids loved the hot tub and having separate rooms! Highly recommend this house and will hopefully get another chance to stay here in the future!

Perfect home in the perfect location.

Our family of four with a dog stayed over this Memorial Day weekend. This home had everything we needed. We loved the location. Secluded in a beautiful area, yet only a few minutes outside of Durango. Being so close to a number of lakes allowed us plenty of options for fishing. We were also able to drive up to Silverton for a day trip and enjoy a ATV adventure with San Juan Backcountry. Loved everything about the place. I would only note that there is no fenced area for the pets so we had to keep a close watch on our dog in the event that he would wander off to far on his own. The hot tub was just what we needed and made our stay that much more lovely. Gorgeous setting. Highly recommend to anyone who is looking. Smooth and simple process. Great communication.
