Our family of four ( our dog) stayed a whole month at Hollie's sweet little house, and it was a perfect home-away-from-home. The location is fantasticâin the quiet end of town, and walking distance to so much: downtown shops/dining, Horse Gulch trailhead (fabulous hiking and mountain biking trailsâdefinitely check it out!), the Animas River trail, playgrounds, and coffee (we loved Durango Bike Project-nice bike and coffee shop, right next to a French bakery!!). We walked and biked almost everywhere! The house itself is super cozy and functional, with everything you need. It was extremely clean and well kept (sometimes dog-friendly rentals are a little less cleanânot the case here!) The two bedrooms with a queen bed in each worked fine for us because our kids are still small enough to share a bedâbut might not work for families with older kids. Our kids appreciated the books, toys and games in their closet! Hollie was a great communicator, and her sweet mom lives right next door and was a wonderful neighbor, making us feel welcome, giving activity books and craft supplies to the kids, and chatting with us every time we were out for walks. Her dog is also very friendly, and made friends with ours through the fence. The big fenced in yard was really nice for the dog and kids to play outside safely unattended.Durango is a beautiful, fun, unpretentious, and accessible. We had a wonderful time and would 100% stay at Hollie's Wild-Horse house again. We're going to miss it!
