I loved the decor - quite traditional and full of character which I prefer to a more corporate style Some people might find it a little shabby, but very comfortable nonetheless, although a few minor maintenance issues like squeaky doors and wardrobe doors and missing curtain hooks, for example, could be easily resolved.
Breakfast was really good and all the staff were unfailingly helpful and pleasant.
Great location and great value for money.
Kingslodge is a superior pub/hotel. Very comfortable, surprisingly quiet, atmospheric feel. Breakfast was well-prepared, staff friendly and facilities more than adequate.
The hotel / bar staff were very helpful and friendly. Really good selection of food cooked to order. Plenty of onsite parking. Most importantly for us the hotel is extremely dog friendly. The walk into Durham city centre is approximately 10 minutes. We would stay here again and recommend.
A lovely friendly place to stay. Staff were excellent. Only a short walk from the city centre meaning we could park our car for free and leave it for the length of our stay.
Evening meal was tasty and cheese and onion pie was plentiful. We didn't have a cooked breakfast but what we had was good .
Kingslodge Inn is a lovely English country inn conveniently located near Durham train station and bus station. The room is spacious and comfortable, and the bar & restaurant offer great good in a cozy environment. Just note that there isn't an elevator; I had to carry my big suitcase one floor up.
Very pretty pub with nice rooms above. In a great quiet location. The rooms were quaint but with modern amenties and well maintained. Breakfast was great as was dinner in the pub. The staff were very friendly.
Really perfect for our trip to Durham. Within walking distance of the university. Very clean and comfortable. We got a warm welcome from all the staff, and the dining room was a good place to get work done--even had charging at the booth.
