We enjoyed our stay at the cottage on Gardner Lake. It was peaceful and relaxing. We had good weather and enjoyed all the outdoor seating options. We ate most meals outside. We brought our small boat and 2 paddle boards. We enjoyed using them, fishing, swimming and kayaking on the lake. We had a picnic and time on the beach at Roque Bluffs, did a hike on the Bold Coast trail in Cutler, and visited Lubec, which was beautiful. We got wild blueberries and peaches from Harmon Mountain Farm (which happens to be owned by a family from our hometown!)We enjoyed Helen's restaurant and the Bluebird Ranch in Machias, but also cooked a lot at the house. The house is a little tight on beds with 6 people, but we brought a blow up mattress and made it work. (Two sets of bunk beds would be great in the second bedroom :) Overall, we were happy with the cleanliness of the house, except for some pet hair on the couch and couch cushions. Natalie was a wonderful host. She went out of her way to communicate, be helpful and provide suggestions of things to do in the area. We enjoyed time around the fire almost every evening, and star gazing. It's a great spot on a quiet, pretty lake!
