First time for most of us going to the area The home was well located to our needs Everything clean and in place. All basic needs provided to make our stay easy ! Definitely recommend !!!
Beautiful cabin, accurate listing. Short drive to Ellicottville which has a lot of cool little shops and restaurants, and of course Holiday Valley Ski Resort. Why stay in a resort with just beds when you can stay in a house for the same cost?!? Very comfortable beds, and the views are amazing! Would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves back in the area. Responsive hosts, 5 stars for sure!
We enjoyed a second time here at the Chalet, this time for a whole week just after Christmas. It is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy nature and still be close enough to Ellicottville and Holiday Valley. The views are stunning. We enjoyed using the fireplace and the well-outfitted kitchen. We actually only ate one meal in a restaurant which saved some real money and time. The owners are kind and wonderful at communicating with the guests. I would definitely recommend a stay for a long weekend or a full week, if possible. Thanks, Joanne and Robin
The property fulfills the listing and then some. My family and I had a wonderful time relaxing and hanging out together. The views couldn't be outdone we even had a few deer right in the yard area off the deck. The layout is perfect for together time as well as privacy. Id def recommend
Nice property as advertised. The window seals around the AC units had to be managed to minimize wasp intrusion but very minor - only removed 2 wasps during stay and none after the seals were adjusted.
We had a weekend stay to go skiing at Holiday Valley. No snow, so that was a bummer. Travel to the resort is 8.3 miles, about 15 minutes. The travel is so worth the privacy.
Chalet was very nice..greaty layout with lots of room. Beautiful wrap around deck! Washer/dryer was great to have. Kitchen could've had a little better amenities.
Outside was a little disappointing...cans and candy wrappers around; pond unkept; sleds just laying around; driveway could've used more stone (kinda muddy); chairs around outside firepit were very old. We are big outdoorsy people who like to be outdoors...yes, even in winter. Oh, and please oil the screen door.
All in all, we enjoyed our stay.
Our third stay and perfect for our 3 night stay to visit family and friends and have peace and quiet while enjoying the colors of fall. House has everything we needed.
This spacious home has 3 levels with sizable bedrooms in each, (especially the lower floor). The whole place overlooks an immense landscape of extraordinary natural beauty. Enjoying our morning coffee & breakfast on the wrap around veranda while our small dog explored the grounds was perfect. Taking in the evening sunset from the comfort of the living room through the large windows flanking the large fireplace was just as delightful. We were even given logs so we could enjoy the fire-pit, which was a lovely treat. We did discover a few unexpected issues & promptly contacted the owners about them, all but one was fully resolved during our stay. It was fairly effortless to reach them when needed & they were always helpful & courteous in their response. Visiting Niagara Falls is easy & a must. The same is true for Griffis Sculpture Park, it's uniquely gorgeous. The staff there were exceptionally friendly & sweet with us. You'll need to stock up on groceries which is simple enough as the stores are a relatively short drive away. If you're looking for sanctuary within beautiful, quiet, private, ample surroundings, this is it. I would've liked the place to have been a little cleaner & for certain appliances to have worked better, but the owners were responsive & the location & general living layout make this a stay worth experiencing.
My family and I - my wife, son and daughter-in-law, and two grandsons - spent a week at this East Otto chalet, and the accommodations were just perfect! The loft bedroom was perfect for both boys and the first - floor king room was perfect for my wife and I. My son and daughter-in-law settled in nicely downstairs with the queen bed, futon, and large-screen TV. There was a window-mounted AC unit in every bedroom that cooled the Chalet nicely all week. When we travel, we cook together because we all enjoy cooking and sharing meals together, especially at breakfast. The kitchen worked out just fine, with the tabletop griddle and plenty of pots, pans and accessories. We drove to Niagara Falls twice, first for the Maid of the Mist and the Cave of the Winds, then back two days later for a great dinner at The Red Coach Inn in Niagara Falls, NY, then for the Falls light show and fireworks display. Griffis Sculpture Park is a fun place for hiking. There are three trails - green, blue, and red - and you get rewarded along the trail with all the interesting sculptures to discover. Spend an afternoon touring Ellicotville (EVL to the locals). Great little shops and several good restaurants like Katy's Cafe', for lunch. Afterward, take a stroll through the Nannen Arboretum. There are plenty of options for shopping in Springville, as well. It's only nine miles from the Chalet. And there's so much more nearby that we simply didn't have time to see and do. You'll have fun if you go!
The property is tucked out in the hills with a great view across the valley with great sunsets watching the clouds pass by through the awesome floor to ceiling windows. Check in was easy. Got settled in and had two questions that were answered quickly by the hosts. Will definitely be a return VRBO when we come back into town.
This property was one of the best, most clean homes we have ever stayed in. It was not only beautiful but functional for all of our families age ranges.
Homeowner very kind and responded extremely quickly. Home is spacious. Snow would have been nice- great potential to go sledding with family out the doorstep.
This is our second year staying at the cabin for New Yearâs. There were 6 adults. We had plenty of space. All the amenities you need are in the cabin. Itâs a bit of a drive to Ellicotville (10 minutes) but we donât mind that. I wish the skiing would have been better but otherwise another great way to spend new yearâs!
Has potential, but could use TLC from property owners
We stayed in early august. To start off, the views are amazing and the house is very nice and well kept with a beautiful great room and comfortable beds. However, the deck is very slippery when wet, my son slipped on the wood stairs (he was wearing slip resistant work boots). The air conditioning is spotty, and the two units donât produce half of what you would need on a summer day, we were very fortunate the weather was not very hot when we stayed, but it still took a long while to get down to 65. The sink didnât hold water, so washing dishes was a bit of a challenge. There was a light out in each bathroom. We were unable to use the firepit, as there was garbage in it, including a shotgun shell (it was spent, but for safety reasons we didnât risk lighting a fire). Overall, itâs a very nice property, but it could use some TLC, as it seems the house was not properly checked on between visits,
This home was exactly what we were looking for during our vacation to Ellicottville. The property is close enough to town but a few miles away which felt very peaceful and private. There was plenty of room for all of us to spread out. The teenagers loved having the bottom floor to themselves while the little ones were thrilled to stay in the loft area. The house was very clean and had everything we needed for our trip and then some. We've already reserved for our next trip to come ski.
