One of my favorite places to go with my family. About 2 hour drive so its not too much for the kids to tolerate. Spacious units fully stocked with everything except food. Grocery stores about 10 minutes away. Within an hour of pulling up my family is in full fledge party mode! We found this location five years ago and have been going annually ever since. See you next year Shawnee Village!
We loved the indoor and outdoor pool at the recreation center. Our daughter loved swimming all afternoon after we hiked and did outdoor activities in the morning.
The cottages were clean and well kept. Property offers enough activities to keep the kiddies occupied. The pool however was the issue. It was over chemicalized causing a closer on day two. Pool accessibility is a major priority when we vacation.
The unit that we were in was dirty with sticky counters, dead cockroaches, stains in the carpet, smelly rooms, dirty patio! The unit looked so run down and the bathroom shower stall was so tiny that you canât take a shower without bumping into something! The resort is not kid friendly in the sense you, you canât access the recreational area without driving down, the kids couldnât go by themselves! The pool outside was closed and the indoor pool was too crowded and dirty! Two days into the unit and the a/c stopped working and we had to pack up everything and get moved into another unit, which surprisingly was in a better condition! We were coerced into signing for a presentation by Wyndham resorts and were not told about $60 deposit, that we lost because we said our schedule was busy. What a rip off! I never had such a bad experience!
Our stay was great. Just stayed a couple of night for some relaxing and pool time. Pools were great and clean. Only thing is the patios need some extra cleaning and a lot of stairs.
The place was nice, but it wasn't on the property with all the amenities, so that's false advertising.
The staff were friendly, but they pushed you to go to a 1.5 meeting.
The villa was clean, BUT very buggy, and the air conditioning did not work correctly.
Note: If you want the unit with the washer and dryer, you have to ask for it to ensure that's the unit you get. The staff were willing to switch our unit, but it was too late for that.
Other people were at the front desk at the same time as I was switching units because the air conditioner was not working.
We checked out the night before checkout to avoid a hot sleeping situation again.
We won't be back
This was our first time at resort. Check in is not easy you have to go two desks first to check in and second desk they trying to sell you to listen later at your stay 90 minutes their promotion. So check in time was long. There is no internet they stop your internet service and gives you wifii which never works. Villa itself had carpet which has old smell in the rooms and there was dead flies in the kitchen sink and big spider in the bathroom tub.
The room was very spacious and our daughter enjoyed the indoor swimming facility and arcade. However, our room/villa was extremely dated. Thereâs a giant orange bucket shaped bathtub off the kitchen that was strange. No jets. Just a deep orange tub. The showers are all tiny like youâre showering in a camper. My husband couldnât even turn around in it and I had to turn the water off to scrub up, then turn it back on to rinse. We had ants in the kitchen that they sprayed the morning after our checkin. There were larger bugs that I was not able to identify dead in the closets and spiders. We chalked it off as a stay in the mountains and we should expect bugs, âŠ
I would be hesitant to book again.
