We found the following issues:12 dead wasps in an upstairs bedroom Dirty dishes in the kitchen cabinetsPopcorn ceiling is peeling from upstairs bathroom Broken drinking glass placed in kitchen cabinet Musty, mildew smelling towels like they had been left in the washing machine for a week.Stains on the sofa. Dirty oven. Dirty washing machine The master bathroom trash can had brown spots that could have been someoneâs diarrhea. A light comes on when movement in the bedroom but is especially disturbing while trying to sleep. Kitchen cabinet door coming off the hinge. The photos do not accurately depict the current state of the home. Location is nice!
We enjoyed the stay. The beds were very comfy and the house was neat and clean. We enjoyed taking our boat. The boat dock is a little tricky, as it is the very last dock in the cove so a little shallow but we managed ok.
comfortable and quiet accommodations, great for a low-key vacation for a few days at the lake with kids. decent location, 5-10 minute drive to local marinas, restaurants, and the grocery store. good communication by the host as well.
We stayed here with our four older kids (ages 14-22) and two dogs for one of the kiddos graduating from Georgia College. The floor plan worked out great for us, and the house was well equipped for what we needed. The hostess was easy to communicate with. My husband is not the most successful at fishing but had a few catches just throwing out a line at the dock. I'm not sure if that dock area is typically cleaner than when we were here, but there's no way I'd encourage swimming in that stagnant water. Still, it was nice having the little connection to the lake. I hope they can replace the swing at some point--it was rotted and not safe to sit on. I was glad we brought our camp chairs. The back porch is a lovely place to sit, too.Everything in the house was comfortable and worked well for us. It's a gorgeous spot in an amazing neighborhood. I walked the entire neighborhood almost every morning with our dogs. The houses through there are diverse and fun to check out. The neighbors were friendly. It was just over 2.5 miles if I circled every cul-de-sac and did an out-and-back to the main road. Walking alone with just my dogs, I always felt safe and enjoyed the walk.I know the listing says consumables (like detergent) are provided, but we definitely needed to add a few things for a full week's stay and sizable family. This is not unusual with even our most favorite VRBOs, so it's not a knock against the house, just something to note and be prepared for.
The property was reasonably clean and pretty as described in the add. However at arrival the storm door was locked so entry was impossible which the agent remedied after a call and text. From there it went downhill immediately, broken bed, doors towel rods, along with a huge spill in the oven that smoked the entire home up at first useand the septic tanks out front were so foul you could not use front porchâŠThe agent did offer a small refund and I have pics along with text of all the items mentioned. Even better now the agent has made a fraudulent insurance claim on the broken bed that was damaged when we arrived the she offered to have handyman come repair⊠âŠIts listed cheap and I now know why⊠I will avoid going forward!
This property was perfect for a 4 generation gathering, ages 7 months old to 89 yrs. - Plenty of room to spread out. The first floor Master Bedroom/Ensuite with walk in shower was perfect for my 89 yr old mother. Great memories were made.
We enjoyed our long weekend - attending UGA graduation, state shot-gun competition, boating, kayaking, playing billiards, and just enjoying the fellowship. The cicadas were in full song and the Northern Lights added to the weekend.
We enjoyed our trip. The house was clean, located close to multiple restaurants, bars, and other activities. I would recommend this house to anyone traveling to this area and will definitely be staying again. Thanks!
We really enjoyed our stay at Loch Oconee! We had two families with kids ranging in age from 6-12 and we had plenty of room. We enjoyed relaxing on the porch, smores on the fire, fishing (only caught one small one), billiards, and ping pong. The owner was helpful and quick to respond if we had questions. We had a great time!
My family enjoyed our short weekend stay. Jeanine was friendly and helpful in accommodating my familyâs needs. Sadly, we werenât âhomeâ much, as we were in town for a baseball tournament and spent most of our time away from the home. But, it was a comfortable and relaxing place of rest at the end of a few long days. Thanks for sharing your property with us.
Beautiful, serene home for a relaxing, lowkey getaway to Lake Oconee! Jeanine was a very accommodating host and her home is incredibly clean, inviting and well-appointed with all the comforts of home! The yard was an added plus for our pup and the view of the lake was wonderful. We would definitely love to stay here again and highly recommend it!
