Great location, very clean and spacious. Great value for the money. Felt like a proper hotel. We received towels, toiletries, extra blankets, and the heating was at our liberty. Kitchen well equipped. Everything was great, besides that they have pushed our check-in with 30 min later and the check-out felt a bit rushed as the cleaner was at our door at 10 to 10.
Really nice apartment, it stayed warm and cosy and the bedrooms were nice and spacious. The location was perfect for us. We were in walking distance to the castle and old town.
This apartment is in a fantastic location - we parked our car when we arrived and didnât get back in it till we left. There is one assigned free space which was very difficult to get our fairly big car in. City center is within walking distance and everything else is an easy bus or tram ride away. We loved the lockbox for the key as there were several of us staying. The apartment is fairly spacious though the en-suite bathroom is very tight. Beds are comfortable. Kitchen and bathrooms were sparkling clean except the shower in the en-suite bathroom which had some mold. The kitchen is decently equipped though with only 6 mugs and bowls we were constantly washing dishes. Hot water was plentiful and the water pressure was great for showers. There were several things that needed attention such as drawer pulls that werenât attached, cracked bathroom sink, and the door shelf was missing from the fridge,. The water boiler sounds like itâs going to blow up every time you run warm water. None of these were deal breakers but for the amount we paid for the apartment Iâd expect everything to be checked and working.Communication with Joivy was easy and he usually responded quickly to emails.
The characters are limited here, so I can't publish my full review that I had already written. Will just mention the main points, which are pretty big negatives. The boiler would virtually always resonate the whole apartment whenever running hot water, and it once went off at 3AM in the morning. The bathroom was horrible and had such an enormous amount of hair stuck in the plug hole as the picture shows. The toilet seats had the outer material starting to peel and they felt very tacky. The blind chain was so rusty that it was almost seized and was very difficult to open and close. The shower was leaking at the neck until I undid it and retightened it.The fridge had the lower door tray missing and the only space for large milk bottles was the bottom of the fridge, which had a pool of dirty water that needed to be cleaned up.There was onion skin under the microwave. I needed to move the microwave to the left as the flames from the large gas hob were getting too close to it. You could see evidence of this in the past. The door handle for the single bedroom only had 2 screws. It was very loose, and on the 2nd night, would only open if extreme force was pulled against it. I needed to remove the fixing on the door frame or else I could find myself stuck in the room. There was blood / lipstick marks on the duvet in the largest bedroom with the bathroom. There were also marks on the sofas.Option of "professional" clean for nearly 200 is extreme given the current condition.
Had a lovely stay that made a nice start for our trip in Scotland. Convenient walking to all kinds of food options. We had some WiFi issues but I know thatâs the provider, not our hosts. Still thought I should mention. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a really nice place to stay in the area.
Needs a lot of maintenance! Weâve traveled all over the world and stayed in everything from budget to luxury. There was mold in the bathrooms, many things were broken from shades, hardware on furniture, stains on sofa, refrigerator door, ceiling light, TV. Water heater/supply was loud ever time a faucet/shower was turned on.No response to our email of broken items once we arrived. Regardless of budget/luxury, clean and well maintained should be the baseline of every rental.
Our visit to Edinburgh was wonderful! Location, which we knew, was a little further away from Royal Mile than we wanted to be. But our walks through the various neighborhoods to get to the Royal Mile was awesome! We found the apartment was like the descriptions and pictures in posting. Management quickly responded to our questions. We would stay here again.
Good location but would probably stay elsewhere next time
The positive was the location - itâs a central spot within Edinburgh. The company communicated within an hour. Kitchen and living room was spacious. The negatives were the beds were terribly uncomfortable. The sink was extremely loose in the shared bathroom. There were conflicting check-out instructions for taking out the rubbish. The primary bathroom within one of the rooms was small and didnât have any shelf space on the sink or in the shower. We requested portable fans but the company never gave a direct answer on providing them (or not for that matter) when asked twice. Itâs also very challenging to have only one key when you have multiple people staying in the flat.
It was a great placeâgreat location and nice accommodations for everyone, except there were dirty dishes in the cabinets and the bathroom door didnât lock. Other than that it was a great place to stay!
