The property itself was in an ideal location for us between our home and Edinburgh airport, great for breaking up the drive before an early morning flight. The staff via Expedia messaging were also very helpful with our late arrival for check in… However, what cannot be ignored were the facts that the towels and bedding were dirty, there were a huge number of insects in the room including midges, spiders and daddy long legs, the quality of finish in the bathroom and bedroom were poor, with marks on the walls, cracks on the walls and around windows, and the bathroom feeling like it had not been redecorated, potentially even not been deep cleaned in decades rather than years. All in all, good location for airport, but felt more like the Only Fools and Horses, Jolly Boys’ outing episode hotel that the Trotters stayed in rather than a modern day hotel.

The staff were friendly and the area of Haddington is chill and safe for women travelers. My only comment is the building and some of the interior is a bit old but its gives it character. Plus, the staff accommodated my dietary options as much as they could which I appreciate!

The owners are doing an incredible job of updating and renovating the property! Breakfast was amazing every morning, and the staff were all fantastic. They are actively working to improve the space. The room was small, but very clean with a comfortable bed and small but nicely updated ensuite. We stayed for three nights. It’s a very quiet and comfortable place to be!

Good location. The staff is really friendly. Good choice of meals in restaurant. Nice Scottish breakfast in there. Hotel located in quiet town, just 25-30 min drive to Edinburgh. Classic room a bit smaller, but it's fine for two nights. Bathroom clean with some toiletries. If someone is looking for luxury book Balmoral hotel in Edinburgh :)

Nice quiet Inn with lovely staff. Full Scottish breakfast included. Family room was a bit tight but worked. Surfaces were clean but baseboards and room corners could use a deep clean.

Very nice hotel with nice breakfast options, an old building that has charm but does lack some modern facilities like USB charger and the TV is small and basic while the door key is old fashioned with a large key ring to carry. It's a nice quiet area and only 5 mins walk from the bus stop where buses can take as little as 45mins into Edinburgh. Overall very good value for money with plenty of space for parking on site, ideal if you're not planning to spend much time at the hotel but want a peaceful stay.

Comfortable and convenient stay

I stayed for one night whilst visiting family. The hotel is well located and just a few minutes walk from the centre of Haddington. The room was fine and spotlessly clean but hotel overall does feel a little tired. That said the warmth of the welcome was genuine. Breakfast was fresh and plenty of choice. I would have no hesitation in staying there again
