The location was amazing. The couch and chair in the living room were decorative but very uncomfortable. The place was clean but honestly showed better in the pictures than it actually was. The bed was comfy and shower was hot.
As advertised, great location on the Royal Mile. The host was very responsive to any questions we had. Amenities as described, all were working. Despite being an older flat, it was clean. It can be noisy in the main living area but to be expected being in the middle of the action. Very much enjoyed our one week stay.
Positive points first. The property is in a great location & was clean. Minor annoyances wereNo WiFi - the property managers were very quick to respond when we first mentioned there was no WiFi & we were given a dongle. However this was initially very slow & then stopped working. We stayed a week & were given only 1 bar of soap & 3 rolls of toilet paper.. we needed 4Bed too soft for us but some people like soft beds. As I said minor issues that seemed too petty at the time but hopefully useful for people wanting to stay for a week or more.
5 min walk from the castle and the witchery. It is a lovely location to see all the fringe events and a starting point to get around the city. Getting to other towns was easy, with the Waverly station about a 10-minute walk away. The bedding was cozy, and operating the thermostat and water heater for the shower was a breeze.
For a two or three night stay in Edinburgh the apartment was perfect for a couple. Itâs directly on the Royal Mile so access to the castle, Holyroodhouse and St Giles Cathedral was very convenient. We stayed over the summer solstice so the evenings were long and somewhat raucous. Morning came early!
The apt was well-appointed although we didnât cook in. Dining table a bit wobbly and lounge seating could be updated for comfort.
Would recommend.
For what we are paying, we are not happy.
Location is 10 out of 10.
Communication is very poor, 3 days to get an answer regarding payment in May. The instructions were never carried out. I phoned from Glasgow the day we were supposed to arrive to find out if we had accommodation or not. I had emailed the day before regarding checking in procedures. This email was never answered. Thank goodness we met Liam, the maintenance man coming out the door when we arrived or we never would have got in.
Internet instructions on mantle are all incorrect. Only way I was able to connect was by scanning QR code on bottom of router. Wifi quit after 4 days. I emailed Altido and never got a response. TV does not work needs some kind of code. Table is loose and needs repair. Refrigerator flops around. Lamp base loose. Taps loose in bathroom. Clock needs a battery.
Minor repairs need serious attention.I will not use Altido again.
