We love the Mettera hotel. It’s charming, clean and the staff are lovely. It’s perfectly located on Whyte Ave and perfect after a night of theatre, food and drinks.

Perfect location for what we needed for our trip to the city. Lots of nice restaurants around and only 10 min drive to the auditorium. Staff was incredibly welcoming and on leaving we were gifted with some homemade chocolate chip cookies. Strongly recommend

The valet parking, good breakfast, good location and excellent staff stood out. The room was very nice but was a bit hot. Think from the fireplace even though it was off. Would definitely recommend this hotel and stay again if the occasion arises

Room and staff great! Breakfast though ... We loved the Eggs, crispy bacon, sausages, and the exquisite roast potatoes which were wonderful and available in quantity up until breakfast closed ... on the other hand, coffee was great but unless you were an early riser it ran out for the last half hour of breakfast. The alternative was decaff (barely OK) or what was available from the automated machine: cappucino, americano etc. all of which were horrible. Similarly, fruit (limited) and yogurt OK but very little or nothing left 30 minutes before closing. It's too bad, but this isn't what we expect given our experience with hotels all over the world...

We enjoyed our 2 night stay in a studio king. Pros: - Location is good, near lots of dining options, shopping and amenities - Studio king is spacious and comfortable, nice decor, fireplace provided lots of warmth and great ambiance - We had great views of Whyte Ave in two directions - Breakfast is good quality with lots of variety - Staff are friendly and helpful Cons: - Water/shower pressure wasn't strong enough to use anything other than the main showerhead - Shower water wasn't very hot, more lukewarm and cold at times - (this may be our bad) We couldnt figure out how to turn the heat down without turning off heating altogether, which we did the second night. It seemed like no matter how low we set the thermostat it stayed at 22 degrees, which is too warm for us to sleep in. - The blackout curtains still let a lot of light in so if you need a dark room to sleep in I recommend you bring an eye mask
