This place was beautiful. My family had an amazing time staying there we sat on the porch and watched the stars at night. So peaceful and tranquil. The host was super helpful and super friendly. I will definitely be staying at this cabin if not his other property on my next trip down.
Not quite a private cabin as it seems. The biggest issue is the dog-friendliness - there is a horse farm next to this property with a fence large enough for big dogs to run into the horses' area, along with an electric fence on the other side of the property. This location is also in the middle of a neighborhood, so dogs couldn't run freely or swim in the pond. The pond has electricity and leeches. Lastly, this house says 2 bedrooms and it is one bedroom with a sofa bed in the living room. None of the pictures reflect these crucial inaccuracies; instead, they show a quiet farm location where you can be free to relax and hang out at the pond. The pond is also listed as a pool in the picture's description, and that certainly is not the case. Overall, the place is nice, but those inaccuracies would have made us pick somewhere else. These are not pictured for a very obvious reason. Google Earth before booking.
The cabin was very charming! Really enjoyed! View of mountains was great. Enjoyed sitting on porch in the mornings & drinking our coffee. And at night listening to the sounds of nature & enjoying lightning bugs, something we donât see in Florida anymore. Host was very accommodating! Would highly recommend!
The cute cabin was so nice. We loved seating in the rockers on the front porch admiring the water fountain in the pond. We were less than 20 minutes from the Bristol Dragway. Hope to visit again soon!
The cabin was awesome and the hosts went way out of their way to make sure we were satisfied. I highly recomend this listing. The trout fishing was the best I have ever seen.tofishingtrfishing.
Absolutely the most relaxing and worry free trip I have every experienced. Cabin is perfect and had exactly as posted amenities. PO was very accessible and checked in several times to ensure we had no problems. As an added treat, seven deer standing in the yard the morning we departed.
The cabin is immaculate and convenient. The owner is readily accessible and easy to work wit.He wasthe best! WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND! But,didn't bother you during your stay. Would HIGHLYto work with. He was super good to us!
We were very impressed with the home. It was in a housing development but at the end. Very quit and peaceful. If you need a vacation for a lower price this place is reasonable and very peaceful.
I can't say enough fabulous things about this cabin. Our stay was just so perfect. We had two small pups with us as well. Beautifully decorated for Christmas and great location to town. Will be back again for sure. Highly r
We loved staying at Black Bear. The cabin is in perfect shape and very clean. We made sure to keep it that way. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The location feels remote, but is close to Bristol and the drive up over the pass to NC is great, with a nice section of the AT to hike.
We had a wonderful time at the Black Bear Cabin. When we arrived all of the Christmas lights were on, the electric fireplace was on, and music was playing. It was just what we needed after a long travel day. This is such a cozy place and we loved all of the cute Christmas decorations. The TV was easy to use and we were able to get all of our local channels from home. Our dog had a great time running around on the property and meeting the horses next door.
Great place, very clean, had everything we needed! The dogs loved it too. Unfortunately it rained Saturday off and on but we still enjoyed ourselves. Loved the horses and they loved our apples. Thanks for a great place to stay. We will try to come back when we have more time.
This cabin exceeded all of our expectations. It was beautifully decorated and extremely clean. The host was very nice from turning the fountain on after normal hours so we could enjoy it longer to giving us ideas of places to visit. It was a wonderful vacation. The views of the mountains were incredible. We also got to feed the horses that are right behind the property. I would definetly stay here again on my next visit.
Great views of the mountains yet still close to town. Every detail at the cabin was first class. Property manger was quick to respond to any questions. Clean, well maintained cabin.
I was attitudinal my best friend with this cabin. The description and picture made it seem secluded and on some property.
Nope, not at all.
This cabin is in the middle of a neighborhood, with neighbors staring at you all the time. The pond sits next to the road, along with the campfire and picnic table.
The description states large grass area for dogs to run but its just 50 feet across and probably 200 feet long with 2 rails of farm fence. The back yard 15 feet by 400 long but with electrified wire fencing. Only if your dog is great off lead would i recommend letting them run here.
There is no hiking behind the house because the property up the mountain is owned by the neighbor behind the cabin. The cabin only sits on about 1/3 acre
I found the pond fountain drowned out our conversation. At night the lights around the pond bring in so many bugs, mosquitos, and spiders. Another chore from the rules, clean porch of spider webs & bugs.
Plan on only 2 people using this cabin. I was going to use the futon and the owner questioned me hard for my choice. It's heavy and didn't look comfy so my friend and i did end up sharing a bed and when he snored too much i slept in the recliner.
I personally didn't appreciate all the fees in this rental that doubled the price. The cleaning and linen fees were at such a high price for such a small cabin. Because after following all the rules and checkout procedures, we ended up cleaning the cabin.
