We had a group of 8 adults stay for a relaxing family gathering. We intentionally looked for somewhere convenient for us all (coming from different parts of VA), quiet, and with some local things to do.This house did not disappoint. There was plenty of room to spread out between the large living area, the huge porch, the garage (slightly up the hill) that had a pool table, ping pong, the hot tub, etc. We were able to enjoy some personal space, but also room to come together to play games and meals. We likely used the kitchen much more than usual visitors. It was well equipped, but could use a few tweaks that would greatly help. It seemed the coffee carafe may have been replaced at some point, as it didn't quite match up to the unit, so the last cup or so of coffee didn't drip as it should, but puddled in the container. Not a huge deal, and something we learned to work around. There were plenty of pots, pans, bakeware, and even a crockpot and blender, and mixer. (We cooked a lot to avoid having to leave the house and save some .) Only thing missing was a big enough bowl to use with the mixer, but we made due. Again, not a deal breaker - just something that'd finish off the kitchen. We had good weather (in April) so we didn't have ice to worry about on the gravel road. Our van & other vehicles made it up the hill. Definitely best to make the first drive up during daylight hours to used to the route. Just don't rush it and pay attention.Great stay! Recommend!
