The actual house is very nice, but you definitely need to be prepared for the rocky drive up to the property. We had some issues with the general cleanliness of the house, with crumbs under tables and mold in some areas. There are things like cabinets and blinds that are absolutely in need of repair, and as far as we could figure out, the pizza oven needs some major care before it can be used. We did not have any issues with bedding and towels. The house is nicely decorated, with plenty of open areas for hanging out. There is plenty of activities in the area, with Eureka Springs and Lake Leatherwood being highlights.
Took a trip with my 4 kids. First off the driveway was scary. We got an email explaining the correct driveway to use after I booked our stay. It was still very steep. More than once I thought we wouldnât make it and I drive an suv. I wouldnât try it in a car. Upon arrival the house looked clean but later we found mice droppings everywhere. Under every bed, in cabinets, on my mattress and even in clean dishes and the toaster. I pulled sheet pans out to cook breakfast and they looked like someone had cooked bacon on them and just put them back in the cabinet dirty. Wasnât expecting to have to wash dishes before I used them. And just know you need to bring tick spray. They are everywhere. That isnât awful but a little notice would have been nice. I walked out in the yard just long enough to get a picture of the house and found 3 on me. The listing said there was a dvd/Blu-ray player but there was not. The house was super cute and large enough for us but I wouldnât stay here again.
We loved the drive through the hills and forest on the way to the cabin. It was so peaceful. There was plenty of room for our family to spread out. Due to the rain, we were not able to enjoy the pizza oven and patio. We loved our stay in Eureka Springs.
