Very rural. Nice views and very comfortable. Suggestion: Have homeowners leave some lights on. We didnât arrive until after dark and it was so rural it was very dark. The bedrooms with baths was very helpful.
Well, itâs definitely an experience. The house could be incredible but it needs some love. House is large, well laid out with all the amenities needed. However- The kitchen cupboards are in disrepair with drawers missing and door broken off. The linens are tattered and worn. Itâs definitely a house that has the hand me downs just thrown in it. The hall shower dripsâŠ.all night longâŠ.and itâs not a quiet drip. Definitely needs a thorough cleaning and some general maintenance. Unfortunately the listing is deceptive as for location and parking. Itâs 13 miles from town and the driveway is a full narrow mile of large gravel with inclines & sharp drop offs. If you do not have a 4 wheel drive just forget about it. Especially if itâs raining. There is parking at the home, it took at least 5 messages to get this cleared up AFTER booking. Cool house on top of a mountain but be prepared.
Where do I begin...1st the listing says secluded. This is beyond secluded. Its 3 miles past secluded. On the roughest gravel road I have ever been on. 2nd the listing is misleading on whether or not there is internet or a DVD player so I messaged ahead of time to inquire so we could arrive prepared and they assured me they had both there for us. They had neither. The internet box is there just doesn't work Im assuming cause they haven't paid for service. Sent a msg inquiring about internet and dvd player and was told they would get it fixed but they never did. We ended up driving to the next town to buy a dvd player. 3rd cleanliness. Or lack there of. Floors were dirty, dirty showers with mouse droppings inside shower. Toilet paper on holder had been shredded im assuming (hoping) from a mouse. There are cabinet doors missing, dishes in cabinet had dried food on them and the place had a musty smell to it. They put no effort into the inside or outside of this place and it shows. We went away for a relaxing weekend and this was anything but. The trip from the main road to the cabin created anxiety and resembled something out of a horror movie. Lastly when my husband goes to the listing to see reviews he can see all reviews good and bad. I however as the one who booked the cabin am only allowed to see good reviews. Makes me question if they are somehow blocking bad reviews. Listing company is called vacasa for future reference. I'll be avoiding their listings in the future
Iâm 45 and this is the worst lodging we have ever experienced. This place does have a ton of potential but it is obvious that the owner either doesnât care about the property or is blindly trusting a 3rd party to take care of it. In either scenario this place is very neglected. SECLUDED: My home is secludedâŠthis lodge is on another level. If you want convenience to town this isnât for you. After the drive down Pivot rock rd, this private âdrivewayâ is about a mile long of VERY rocky/rough terrainâ(I tried driving 11mph and it was way too rough). The brush along the roadside is severely overgrown to the point it rubs your vehicle (see pic). I would NOT recommend this if you have a car as the rocky terrain may be too much, or if you have a large nicer vehicle you donât want the brush to rub. LODGE CONDITION:âCleanliness â not the best. Very stale type smell. Floor was a little dirty. A few bugs on/in bedding. Some bedding had a dirty smell. âBroken/Out of order âSome kitchen cabinets are broken. I see there was a previous guest review that referenced this but the owner still hasnât fixed this at the time of our stay. MULTIPLE lighting fixtures are broken. Sink drain in bathroom on the left is not functional. Multiple issues with shower and tub water controls. Mstr door doesnât shut. Closet door is brokenAIR:The thermostat always changes back automatically to an uncomfortable temp of 76 to 80 degrees. The units donât cool the place down very well.
The home was very unique but has some damage to it. Kitchen drawers missing, holes in drywall and closet doors knocked out of tracks from most likely previous renters. The place was very spacious. The gravel road was a bit rough but would stay again.
The actual house is very nice, but you definitely need to be prepared for the rocky drive up to the property. We had some issues with the general cleanliness of the house, with crumbs under tables and mold in some areas. There are things like cabinets and blinds that are absolutely in need of repair, and as far as we could figure out, the pizza oven needs some major care before it can be used. We did not have any issues with bedding and towels. The house is nicely decorated, with plenty of open areas for hanging out. There is plenty of activities in the area, with Eureka Springs and Lake Leatherwood being highlights.
Took a trip with my 4 kids. First off the driveway was scary. We got an email explaining the correct driveway to use after I booked our stay. It was still very steep. More than once I thought we wouldnât make it and I drive an suv. I wouldnât try it in a car. Upon arrival the house looked clean but later we found mice droppings everywhere. Under every bed, in cabinets, on my mattress and even in clean dishes and the toaster. I pulled sheet pans out to cook breakfast and they looked like someone had cooked bacon on them and just put them back in the cabinet dirty. Wasnât expecting to have to wash dishes before I used them. And just know you need to bring tick spray. They are everywhere. That isnât awful but a little notice would have been nice. I walked out in the yard just long enough to get a picture of the house and found 3 on me. The listing said there was a dvd/Blu-ray player but there was not. The house was super cute and large enough for us but I wouldnât stay here again.
We loved the drive through the hills and forest on the way to the cabin. It was so peaceful. There was plenty of room for our family to spread out. Due to the rain, we were not able to enjoy the pizza oven and patio. We loved our stay in Eureka Springs.
