We ended our road trip in Fairbanks and pulled up to the cottage on a rainy afternoon. It was so cozy, even though on the small side it was definitely more spacious than the hotel rooms we had been staying in as a family of 4. My teens loved the net, I was able to Instacart ingredients to cook dinner- they had everything from a can opener to spices. I was very thankful for the coffee maker :) and the laundry set up was very thoughtful. I was able to wash a load & they even had soap. The private steam shower was relaxing & I also appreciated the shampoo & conditioner that were provided. The property was neat and very charming, I especially loved the tree houses! For the renters who complained about the sun coming in the door, I simply hung a towel over the door and gently shut it- problem solved! This place was everything & more than advertised.
The property & location were not exactly what I was expecting. We were in a weird industrial sort if neighborhood at more of a group rental than private. Having said that, it was lovely. Attention was paid to every detail (except a curtain for the window on the front door). We could not get ny 11 yr old niece our of the hammock, it was a huge hit!
The cabin is has a new interior and is designed perfectly for a comfortable and cozy stay! The cabin kitchen is equipped with everything you could need to cook a meal, even though downtown is only about a 10 minute drive. We stayed in January so we did not explore the neighborhood on foot, but having a rental car made it easy to go to an from the downtown area. We saw a family of moose out the window on our first morning, this cabin provided an all-around Alaskan winter experience for us! Would highly recommend renting!
