Hounds Retreat has recently been refreshed with thoughtful updates throughout, including new carpet, fresh interior paint, updated lighting, and new appliances (since 2023). The kitchen has been enhanced with new countertops, fixtures, and a new dining table and chairs. Both bathrooms have been fully updated with new tile, fixtures, and added safety features including grab bars and shower seating. Additional upgrades include new TVs in the downstairs bedrooms and a new grill for outdoor cooking.

Enjoy breathtaking mountain views on horseback or while hiking, then return to the comfort of your cabin to prepare a meal in the fully equipped kitchen or grill out on the deck. End your day with a relaxing soak in the hot tub or cozy up for a movie on the HDTVs. Day trips to Boone and Blowing Rock are just a short drive away, offering something for everyone.

This home is located in the 4000 acre, Leatherwood Mountain Resort in Ferguson, NC. Our guests are invited to enjoy our Horseback Riding program where you can experience the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains pristine wilderness by Horseback (reservation required). You will have access to miles of hiking trails, mountain streams, stocked fishing pond, community swimming pool, play ground and tennis courts, creek tubing (seasonal), on-site restaurant with active live music & event calendar (guest advised to check hours when planning meals).

Leatherwood Mountains has surveillance or recording devices on the property. Our neighborhood is very safe and our property very secluded. For added peace of mind, we have security cameras by the gated entrance and common areas. Individual properties may also have cameras on the EXTERIOR of homes. Please be assured they are not directed at private areas, hot tub porches etc.
