The location of the home on the edge of the lake provided a beautiful non-stop view from both the upstairs and the downstairs. This set-up encouraged us to spend a lot of extra time relaxing during our Autumn women's visit...which was perfect. The home does need some attention to details such as minor cleaning and functionality of appliances, utilities which was communicated to the property managers during our stay. Overall, I would recommend this home!

We absolutely loved this house, we had a familyReunion with my siblings, it was a great way to get away together and enjoy the peacefulness of the lake. The house was gorgeous, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. We all agreed we would come back to this house in a heartbeat.

This is a lovely home with beautiful view of the lake. Our whole stay was peaceful and relaxing. The kitchen is well stocked with appliances but be aware there is little to no spices, paper products, or condiments. Not like other homes so bring everything you might need for cooking. Otherwise you won’t find any fault with this home!

Worth The Visit

If you are looking for absolute quiet and an ability to see nature up close and personal, Otter Banks is for you. If you want great internet access with great TV availability, Otter Banks is for you. If you are looking for great kitchen access with a nice bar area, Otter Banks is for you. If your group needs lots of space available or you just need space for a couple, Otter Banks is for you. This place is worth the visit.

Extended Family vacation

We were looking for a family friendly home where our adult children, grandchildren Aunt and Uncle could all have fun. We found it! Otter Banks is awesome. The house is beautiful the property and lake are so enjoyable to just watch the day go by. The accommodations were very nice. Plenty of room for family or alone time. The kitchen is well stocked as well as tons of games and books. Not to mention the kayaks. The property owners really thought of everything. I think I can safely say that our family loved it there and would love to go back again. We saw deer every day and we did see an otter cruising around one evening. The beach and the town of Florence were a few min drive from the house and was close to beautiful scenery. We loved it!

Otter Banks is SUPURB!

This home is a 10!,! We were ALL impressed with this home, from the views to the beds! The family loved the Kayaks, and even watching the rain from several viewpoints! The only suggestion is for those unfamiliar with the area, (we had one of those) planned on the 19 minute walk to Old Town that took almost 3 hours, and there was no need for bathing suits since there was no stated hot tub. Great trip and home! We loved it!

Amazing Stay

What an amazing time we had as a family! The home and the property are just beautiful! They’ve thought of everything with this property
 Everything you need is there! Our two granddaughters, ages seven and 10 were in the lake nonstop. They enjoyed the kayaks very much! We got so lucky with the weather. It was 80° and beautiful. An added bonus was for the deer that stopped by to see us one morning and especially the northern lights that we were so fortunate to see. This was a vacation our family needed, and we want to say thank you so much!

Enchanting stay but needed more communication from host!

The house is GORGEOUS!! It has the WOW factor the second you pull into the driveway. The lake access is amazing, the view from the living room is stunning. The entire place was crystal clean, the rooms spacious and cozy, the primary bathroom was a dream with a large soak tub, heated floors, and rain shower. Where things fell short: -Host didn't respond back to questions about the below issues for 1.5 days, and barely responded in general (which was odd because they were very communicative when booking) -The fireplace didn't work -Couldn't adjust the heat for the house and needed to use space heaters -Only one TV worked, and it had one channel option

Beautiful house, beautiful view

Went for a long weekend with my book club friends. The house is gorgeous, spacious & comfortable. We used the kayaks & enjoyed leisurely paddles around the lake. The house is lovely & the view was mesmerizing. We all want to come back. What a gem!

Excellent house

I have no complaints, other than I am shocked that for a VRBO house and do you have an emergency issue or need to get a hold of someone after hours, he will probably never received any response. During the three states that my family and I have had at this house, I called the emergency line more than a dozen times for a few items, and only received a call back one time about 12 hours later, then the rest of the calls I never received a response. My experiences at VRBO houses has been exceptional regarding communication, I always have someone that responds to me usually within five minutes or less but don’t expect a response at this house. Otherwise I have no complaints and it is probably the best house I’ve ever stayed in.

Perfect house

I can’t say enough good things about this property. I have stayed in many rental homes in travel for business regularly and this is the cream of the crop. The only improvements that would be possible far better communication from Property Mgt., and getting the heating and cooling situation figured out. My family and I stayed at this house in early November and it was so hot in the house even with all of the individual room heaters turned off that we had to have the windows in the front door open during our entire stay. Moving forward a couple of weeks, we stayed here for the week of Thanksgiving, and the house was much cooler as the temperatures outside dropped, and even with the assistance of space heaters, it was generally chili the entire time. The temperature in the house seems to be one extreme or the other. The fireplace ran out of propane just before Thanksgiving day, so the last four days of our trip we had no functioning fireplace and actually the fireplace was what was keeping us comfortable and without it we were very chilly. Having stayed at a number of Verbo properties, I have to say I’m always impressed with access to a host. I have really gotten spoiled with great hosts at VRBO properties, but I must say, during my first day, I reached out to the VRBO host several times, and never received a response. During the second trip, I did not get a response from the VRBO host either. Better communication needed. I could see more but not enough character space.

Great views!

We had a great getaway and really enjoyed this home. I had asked a couple questions before we came and they were answered in a timely matter but unfortunately was wrong information. The pull out sofa is not in the master bedroom, it is in the upstairs living room and there were way more than 2 kayaks included in the rental! We had brought our own and wish we could’ve had that stress relieved. Overall it was a great stay!

Incredible Lake Mercer views in Florence

We love this property! Our second stay here and the home is laid out well and super comfortable for up to 4 couples. Living space upstairs and down, walls of windows face the lake on both levels. Large kitchen for hosting meals. Super peaceful and serene. We'll be back!

Has it all

We have rented this house multiple times over the years, gathering together our family friends from up and down the West Coast. Our group has also gone to Hawaii and Sunriver, but our favorite is this house on Mercer Lake. Having kayaks, paddle boards, air hockey, a dock, a deck, and a beautiful kitchen/living room seating area makes this a perfect place for our 3 families to reconnect each year! Thank you for keeping it awesome through the years!
