Family vacation

The property was as listed. The view from the screened in balcony was beautiful and we saw dolphins playing during high tide. The view from the front door and 2 bedrooms also had nice views of the pond. I found the washrooms were small and the square toilets were awkward. It would have been great to have a full length mirror near the front door or somewhere in the unit. The space in the living room was large and fantastic to spread out. The kitchen and eating area worked well. The main bed was very comfortable as were the single beds. There was dog fur and hair on the sheets in the 2nd bedroom. We had a great vacation and felt safe and comfortable in the unit.

This condo is beautiful. The appliances are great. The beds and pillows were super comfy. Clean and well taken care of. The sunsets and views ... BREATHTAKING!! Overall worth every penny spent!!

Anniversary

Stayed with family for our anniversary. Our daughter is at CofC so she was able to enjoy it too. Close to a lot of things to see and great places to eat.

Almost perfect

The location and condo are great! I didn’t give it a perfect review because there is room for improvement. 1). It says that it sleeps 6 but it really only sleeps 5. One of the bedrooms has a full bed which is not ideal for two people to share so one of my teenage children had to sleep on the couch every night. It was frustrating and they didn’t sleep well as a result of this. 2). When we arrived, the gate wouldn’t open and we had to call and ask for help which took 15 minutes after driving 14 hours. Not ideal but it was resolved quickly. 3). The bedding is average at best. Very thin comforters and bad pillows. Bring your own, if you can. 4). The air conditioning vent in the room with the twin beds does not work do that room got very hot. Location is great, pool is fun, decor and cleanliness of the place is terrific. Folly Beach & Charleston is excellent! Great family friendly vacation spot.

Housekeeping & Pillows

House keeping and pillows were way below average. Terrible dust on ceiling fans and bathroom exhaust fans. Kitchen was clean. Furnishing are a little tired. Pillows were very flat and had to be folded three times to make the thickness of a normal pillow.

Our stay at Southern paws

The house was great great location beautiful view! Only two things that were not huge but there were no hangers in any of the closets so I had to go buy hangers and the toaster doesn't work very well it takes several times to get it to keep the bread down. Other than that it was beautiful we enjoyed it and would love to come back again sometime.

Would recommend, once construction is done

Hang on for this roller coaster
 When pulling into the community, we got worried seeing all the construction. We were emailed that construction was happening after we booked the stay. Of course not thrilled about this. Who wants to spend their hard earned money on what they expect to be a peaceful beach vacation to listen to construction noises starting at 7:30 am and going into the evening? So we mentally prepare ourselves for this. We find the building. The elevator and walkway to the unit was littered with construction debris, plywood boards hiding some of the areas, and a few rogue nails on the ground. Had to call to get the door code, it was left out of the check in email and VRBO app. But quickly got some one on the line and got into the unit. But then
 we walk into the unit and it was like walking into a completely different atmosphere. You open the door to a lovely and wonderfully decorated unit with an absolutely stunning view! Plenty of space for the whole family. Mattresses too firm for my liking, but the extremely comfortable couch made a good sleeping place. Fantastic kitchen! Had everything we needed for cooking. Would recommend some attention to the very very loud front door. I am an early riser and woke up my entire family when I attempted to leave the unit to go on a walk because the doors are so loud. Oh, and don’t run the dryer unless you are leaving the unit. Trust me unless you would like to listen to a terrible hour long squealing sound. Loved the location! So close to the beach. Overall, I would definitely stay here again, once construction is done.

Good for a big group

Had a nice and relaxing family time. Nice decor and layout overall, appliances, kitchen tools were useful and seating/dining fit well with a big group. One thing to improve is the upkeep and better cleaning (the vents, ceiling fans were dusty, washer/dryer had lints, coffee maker had mold ). But overall, it’s a positive experience and communication/safety in the building was excellent!

Beautifully furnished with a spectacular sunset view

Unit was decorated and furnished well. Complex had an elevator which was helpful for my elderly father and for unloading. Wish there had been pool chairs- was not told this in advance.

Cleanliness Issues

We loved this property and condo but had a couple major cleaning issues. We were told we could not check in before 4:00 due to the condo being cleaned twice in response to Covid 19. But when we arrived the balcony had not been touched from the prior tenants. There was a pot holder and food crumbs all over the outdoor table and onion and other food on the carpet under the table. There was black hair in several areas of the condo. On the third night of our stay we realized the straw/outdoor area rug in the living room was infested and completely FULL of ants. We were told we could get our cleaning fee refunded, but I did not feel that was enough. Overall we had a wonderful vacation and loved the property and location. The cleanliness issues and difficulty communicating with a property manager will make it difficult to stay here in the future.

The lady at checkin was not helpful at all. Non people person. Would not use this company again. If you get two parking passes seems to reason you would get two gate keys. Not here. No way no how. Impossible to work with. It’s a shame. Place had a great view.

Nice decor, clean comfortable but no extra linens or trash bags etc

The condo is very nicely decorated and is quiet and comfortable except for the twins beds they are horrible you can feel the springs in your back. Time to replace those. There are extra pillows but no sheets or pillow cases anywhere. Trash bags, toilet paper and paper towels should have an extra roll or 2 and trash bags come on why would you not supply those. Super cheap to leave extra trash bags. The condo was close to town and the beach and they did supply plenty of towels and the kitchen had plenty of utensils. I emailed the owner several times before our stay asking for an early check in and no response. Also in the pool area they decided to take all I mean all chairs out (for social distancing) so you literally have to sit on concrete and watch your kids swim. That was seriously annoying.

Little extras

There were simple things that have been included in other rentals but were not in 101 W. Mariner Cay. An ironing board, some clocks, basic spices, the televisions ready for use, instructions for newer microwave, garbage bags, extra toilet tissue or paper towels and basic cleaning products.

101 Mariner’s Cay

This place is amazing!!! The amenities are up to date and clean. There was not a speck of dust anywhere. Our family enjoyed the beautiful views of the marsh each morning from the porch with a warm cup of coffee and not to mention the proximity to Charleston. No more than a 10 minute drive in to the city. If you’re looking for a quiet place to stay while you’re visiting Charleston, do not pass up 101 Mariner’s Cay. We will be back!

Great location to Folly Beach. Clean condo. It did however lack the essentials to a home-like rental. I have stayed at many vrbo/air bnb type rentals that have all had all the necessary amenities such as a hair dryer, tissues, laundry detergent. There wasn’t even salt and pepper. This resulted in a few (un-intended and disappointing ) trips to the store. For the price I’m not sure I would stay here again because of that. The condo was clean but the outside steps leading to the condo were not clean at all. In fact filthy.
