I was visiting Forres for a work event and needed a hotel nearby. The Carlton was lovely. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming; check in was a breeze. The room was super clean and had all the amenities you needed. The bed was excellent and very comfy. Would thoroughly recommend this excellent hotel which is great value for money.
It was a great deal, breakfast included which was very nice. A drink voucher and a pack of sweets. A big room, and bed, nice bathroom and shower and good size tv.
Downside was curtains didnt quite fit windows. Heating was stuck on low so made room really warm, and bed was quite creaky.
When I booked the hotel, I had assumed the facilities would be old based on the photos, but I was disappointed to find them even older and more inconvenient than I expected. In particular, the room was too dark, and there was no hot water in the bathroom.
The room was really big , bed was comfortable loads of shops round about and lovely gardens to explore. Only bad thing was the parking there isn't any for the actual hotel . You have to take your chances in the car park up the road or park in the street beside the hotel which is limited time
Staff were welcoming, property itself was fairly run down carpets could have been vacuumed, windows had to be propped open and some had metal straps across to prevent opening due to rot, power shower was cold and just a trickle lucky was only one night stay as i would have left.
Lovely hotel. Very comfortable and welcoming. The staff are all very friendly and helpful . The bar downstairs also very welcoming and the bar staff were really friendly.
We tried to save a little money by staying here and I guess we got what we paid for. The room was sparse, the mattress was uncomfortable, the room was too warm, and it was noisy. There is no parking on premises, but free parking down the road. Breakfast was fine, and the checkout was easy.
Low cost stay so didn't expect luxury, but a few basic things were lacking e.g. breakfast took 20 mins to be served, mattresses were flimsy, the room smelled of smoke and the carpet was not fully hoovered
The vibe I get is extreme cost cutting, which is a shame if it's needed to stay in business - but it does show in the service
I enjoyed my stay. Staff were pleasant.
There was a difference in the price charged by Hotels .com and the receipt from the hotel.
The hotel explained they had given me a receipt for what they were charging. I would have to go back to Hotels.com regarding the difference which they could explain.
