The fact that you can check in at anytime is wonderful when you have a long journey to make. Yes the place could do with a refresh but itâs great great value.
This a lodge off the beaten path. Gorgeous drive. Itâs quiet & secluded. There are restaurants approx 16 mins north. If you need WiFi or lively entertainment, maybe not for you. Itâs quaint & cozy. A place to relax & take in the area. The views & scenery is amazing.
This accommodation is basic, I would class it more as a hostel. There was no reception but a housekeep visited once per day and she was very pleasant.
I did not feel comfortable here, the water was brown with signs up everywhere stating do not consume the water as there is bacteria in it. We stayed 2 nights but only received breakfast on the first day, 1 long life croissant and crepe each. No kettle in room, tea and coffee facilities in the communal dinning room with a little Kitchenette plus microwave so up side was you could cook your own dinner.
I dont know difficult it is but wifi would be a help as tv not available. I didnt look for one but a hot plate to cook basic would be nice. I appreciate there is a microwave
Great location for a stopover on the Great North Trail. However there are no amenities in Forsinard except the local tea shop which closes at 4pm. Because the hotel is completely unmanned prior planning is essential if you don't have transport or have prepared beforehand.
Upon arrival front door was in poor condition with visible rot to the wooden door frame. there were multiple cigarette burns on the mattress, leak in the bathroom form the toilet soil pipe, the whole property had a distinctively unpleasant smell, no kettle or tv in the room.
Bed was not made up correctly.
The overall presentation and condition of the property meant my employee did not want to stay there and had to secure alternative lodgings at extra cost to my company.
The property is far away from any amenities. It is take your own food with communal kitchen and dining..Although it is a bit dated it was clean and unique..
On arrival other people were about and showed us what what to do and where to go key safe worked well we slept well your coffee we liked we had our own food in the car for breakfast . if we are lucky enough to go back to Scotland next year and going to be in that area Iâm sure we would come again as we are both 84 we never know what the future holds . If you can keep the costs down Iâm sure youâll be a success
This is a remote location and is self-serve only, there is nobody at the property full or part-time. Check-in was fine, the room was adequate and things were reasonably clean. There is no food at the property nor is there anywhere close to buy anything. So, come prepared as there is a refrigerator and a kitchenette if you choose to use that.
Remote area, more of a very clean and warm bothy than a conventionalhotel. Facilities are basic, but as you would expect. Quite extensive for what you get at this time of year we stayed. Bring you own food, microwave available but no oven, a hob with 2 rings. I enjoyed staying. The place and room are very clean.
