Michael

Checked in late at night and was asked if I wanted to upgrade to another room for $30 more each night. I asked to see both rooms to make my decision the person behind the desk said "no, take it or leave it" so I did not upgrade. For that he gave me a room on the 2nd floor, the sink was plugged up, the facet broke in the bathtub and water kept pouring out . I insisted they move me and I was moved to the 7th floor. Better room and there were few people in the hotel so I realized the night desk person was vindictive when he put me in that room. The 2 bartenders were awesome and one person behind the desk was awesome. The rest of the staff (including the valet) was quite surly and unwelcoming. I would never go back to this hotel and I hope the 3 outstanding employees find work elsewhere.

Location is what makes this place. The beach chairs are run by an independent owner. And the beach is public. And you only get one chair per room no matter how many are in your party. And we got a suite so expect to dish out 100 bucks a day. Again the location is beautiful and the valet, grounds and staff are great but the rooms are “faked” cleaned, and the hotel is not quite as exclusive as advertised.

I gave 4 stars, due to a couple of issues: an older hotel with some upgrades. The breakfast with order to make omelet is nice, the rest of the food is plastic, coffee is bad. Jacuzzi was very dirty. What we liked: the spotless rooms with the cleanest bedding sheets, heated pool, beach chairs , but umbrellas is $15. Thanks for drinks and snacks 5 -6:30pm. cleabest bedding
