I booked the house and paid the initial deposit. When it was time for the next payment, I noticed a significant price increase.I discovered they had added a hefty pet fee, even though we had never mentioned bringing any pets. I contacted the host, who promptly removed the charge.
Upon arrival, we found the outdoor trash bin overflowing. I notified the host to avoid any potential liability.
The house itself was nicely furnished and equipped with most essentials. However, we encountered several issues:
âąThe dishwasher was poorly installed and wobbled when opened.
âąA sign on the kitchen sink warned against using the garbage disposal.
âąThe provided soap and toilet paper were insufficient for our stay, and the hand soap and shower gel bottles were only half full.
âąThe shower handle was loose and kept falling off.
âąSeveral electrical outlets were loose or detached from the wall.
âąThe door between the house and garage had no lock.
âąThe garage door was unlocked, leaving it vulnerable to potential intruders.
âąThe backyard lights were non-functional.
Additionally, the house was listed for sale, and the host requested permission for real estate agents to show the property while we were there. We declined. Despite this, someone was seen parking in our driveway, and the house was accessed at least once in our absence.
While the house had its share of maintenance issues, our primary concern lies with the management companyâs attempts to add unnecessary fees and disregard for our privacy.
