Matlacha Tiny House Village - AWESOME!

This place is super cute and fun to stay at. It's in a great location with all the cool little shops and dining right there. We had a little glitch with the check in instructions but the owners were very responsive and I only had to wait a few minutes. I highly recommend this place for a quiet getaway.

Wow town wow place to stay

Matlaca is a beautiful little town. It feels so old Florida. Everything is in walking distance from these tiny homes which are so cute and so adorable. Everything was ready for us upon our arrival. We ate at the blue dog restaurant, which was one block away, walking distance, and also the perfect cup…. Perfect cup has the most amazing coffee and incredible crab Benedict…. Blue Dog has some incredible food. Everything from the best cooking shrimp I’ve ever had to fresh fish great service definitely coming back to all these places, including the tiny house.

Cute house. Watch out for the really low ceiling in the loft bedroom! Funky, fun area which seems to be slowly but surely recovering from hurricane damage. Traffic is dense due to construction/repair crews. Had a great meal at the Blue Dog Bar just down the street.

Nice place and canal, missing the kayak

I really enjoyed this place along with the canal, and outdoor sitting areas. It is adorable! I chose to book here bc the listing said that a kayak was included. That is what I wanted to do daily. They didn't replace the kayaks after the hurricane, so the lisiting should be updated online. I understand the hurricanes really messed up the area, but there has been enough time to update the rental listing since then. There are places in town and around the area to rent kayaks from, but I am on a budget so renting a place that said a kayak was included was my way to save and have the convenience walking out the door and jumping into a kayak each day. I would have chosen a diff. place to rent had I known this detail, in advance to be able to cancel the reservation. All in all a nice place to stay :)

Although the tiny home is cute it definitely isn't functional as you must crawl on your hands and knees to get to your bed, the futon type couch in living space is very uncomfortable, traffic is super loud and crazy busy. Construction up the road was very noisy and not very relaxing and trying to find the location in the dark is pretty difficult as no lights outside showing homes and address. The air unit in the upper loft did not have a remote so inable to use and when communicating to owners and care takers I didnt get a response or any help.
