The home was great and accommodated the party comfortably. The only issue we had was with river access. Due to locals not wanting short term rentals, the areas where you can launch and exit the river have been privatized and have large no trespassing signs posted. These launch and exit points from the river are kept locked and only residents have this key. Being that the river is the main entertainment and attraction it makes it very difficult to enjoy it unless you have a party big enough and two vehicles to shuttle people to the state park to launch from and then you are able to exit behind the home.
House sits on beautiful Ichetucknee River in Three River Estates but owner does not give renter their key to use Hodor Park for access to the river. Owners answer to this problem is "use the State Park access" which charges an additional fee. The reason for renting is to be on the river with multiple floating each day. We have rented on this river many years and have always provided a key by the owner. No linens available for two of the beds. I had to buy linens so could use them. Mattresses need replacing, one particularly very lumpy. Shower leaks like a sieve.
Pros: The house, grounds, and location were fantastic. Super clean place with comfortable beds, spacious kitchen, and a comfy living room area. Upstairs and downstairs screened in porches with tons of fans were also a delight. Tons of tubes, floats, and kayaks available to use. Cons: There was a miscommunication with the hosts, which they eventually corrected but it was an awkward experience. Host didnât provide many things a vacation rental typically does such as beach towels, coffee, charcoal, laundry sheets, and laundry soap. There was no shower caddy for the upstairs so our soap had to sit on the floor. Would have been nice to have some chairs available to bring down to the lower part of the dock and a table for the upper part. We were told we had access to the parks but it is not available to renters unless you are willing to paddle against the strong current. Other option is to have two vehicles so you can launch from the state park which cost money to enter and is very restrictive on what vessels can be used. Nice place, great location, but the hosts could do more to make the place feel more like a home and less like a no frills hotel.
This house/cabin is PERFECTLY situated on the Ichetucknee River. Clean, comfortable⊠huge screened in porches. It took our family about 2 and a half hours to paddle on the (available) kayaks upriver into the State Park and to the midpoint launch, and an hour to float/paddle back. The river access is⊠such a treat, and the deck out at the edge was much enjoyed. We saw a couple manatees swim by, even in April, which was a surprise.
We loved staying at the Tipsy Turtle. The Ichetucknee river is one of our favorite places to visit. We did multiple float, snorkel, & kayak/SUP trips all from the Tipsy Turtle dock or the TREPO parks. We'll definitely be coming back.
House was very comfortable and roomy for family. Loved the screened in porches and extra refrigerator and bathroom downstairs. Would definitely stay again!
Wonderful stay at this home on a spring fed river. Three comfortable Bedrooms with a gorgeous wraparound, screened in porch. We Paddled down from the headspring right to house. Plenty of kayaks and floats to use. Nature all around with manatees, turtles, deer -Great place to unwind.
Great!! Home was clean neat organized and perfect place to enjoy the river. Access was great, had kayaks, tubes and all the essentials. Highly recommend.
Just as pictured. We loved launching our kayaks and SUP at the Ichetucknee Springs State Park and taking out at the property. (You will need at least 2 vehicles for this.) The screened in porches are very nice. We recommend and would consider staying here again.
