Extremely comfortable 5 bedroom house in a quiet setting. Great for entertaining inside and out. Well stocked kitchen, upstairs and downstairs sitting areas with large TV's. Short drive to Main Street and wineries in Fredericksburg.
The host was very responsive with anything we needed. The place was very spacious with ample parking. There was enough rooms and space for everyone to be comfortable. The kids loved the bunk room and the downstairs space. We were able to play cornhole in the driveway while the kids played. The anesthetic on the main floor is amazing. So many spots for good photo ops. We will definitely be staying again.
Several fun, cosmetic improvements were made to this old house; artificial ivy on the walls, a large âFredericksburgâ neon sign, wine cask cut outs, etc. The host was responsive. Unfortunately, the underlying structure has not been updated and was poorly maintained. For example;· The closet space was very limited. There was one place in the house to hang clothes.· The unfenced backyard is shared with another VRBO on the same property. Both allow dogs, which can be an issue. (This was not noted on the listing - we found out upon check in)· Use of the oven and microwave at same time trips the breaker· Kitchen lights and refrigerator breaker trips â cause is unknown· Downstairs tv is not connected· The VRBO listing as sleeping 14, but the seating area(s) are too small and/or inadequately furnished to accommodate more than 6. We had ten people.· The kitchen water pressure was very low.· Dripping bathtub faucet, stained bathtub, mold around the bathtub.Property maintenance / management was also poor. For example:· The yard was filled with leaves, branches and some trash.· Insufficient towels and hand towels for ten people· The thermostat was locked â must call the host to change from heat to cool and/or change the schedule.· The kitchen faucet was plugged with rust.· The downstairs bathroom sink drain was plugged.
Good location if you want to stay close but out of town.
The house is partially redone with one bedroom being a queen daybed in a storage area and 2/3 bathrooms being original and in need of deep cleaning and some repair (it looks to be around a 50 year old house). There were floor planks and boxed furniture stored in the downstairs living area during my stay.
The outdoors areas are naturescape.
The kitchen/upstairs living area is lovely and all the tools needed to cook were provided. The upstairs areas have a cute wine theme that a lot of thought was put into. The host was communicative and prompt at fixing the big issue we encountered.
We had a great time in Fredericksburg. The house was spacious, clean, quiet, and comfortable. Seeing wildlife while sitting on the porches was fun for the family. Ricky, our host, was communicative and helpful. He checked to make sure everything was good.
A wonderful last minute find for our BIG crew! Ricky was so responsive and welcoming. The house was great! We will definitely be keeping this property in our back pockets for future family fun! Thank you!
This property was the perfect place for us to stay while celebrating my sister's bachelorette weekend! The decor, especially the wine barrels, were great touches that aligned with our wine-centered weekend! Ricky was great at communicating with us and made us feel very welcome! Highly recommend this place for any group weekend getaway!
