Really relaxing

A great getaway from Austin

My husband and I loved our weekend in Fredericksburg. We walked the property with our dog, read in the reading nook, and went into town, less than ten minutes away. We’ll be back!

Quite the restful getaway in the cutest mid-century cabin!

We took our small dog Gertie with us to this cabin and had the best, most restful escape. The firepit was a welcome feature at the end of the night! (We got lucky and were the only ones there! It was very cozy.) The owners also communicated with us to let us know that the city planned an electricity blackout during our stay, which was helpful. Would definitely recommend any of these cabins and we plan to be back!

Clean, comfy and cool!

We had a great time. Easy to find. Not too far from Main St. The property was unique. Very cool concept. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Had everything we needed. Enjoyed our s’mores by the fire pit at night. Gracious, responsive hosts. Would highly recommend!

Excellent stay

Owners were so friendly and welcoming. Atmosphere was relaxing and perfect for our Fredericksburg get away. Close enough to Main Street but also far enough to be quiet and see all the stars and nature around us!

Thoughtful, charming retreat in the heart of Hill Country

The Odonata Escape is a truly great escape from two wonderful owners. The homes are super well designed and layed out. The atmosphere is top notch. The "compound" is built with community in mind and feels very welcoming. Thanks again JD and MS!

Nice cozy & Groovy chic

Very nice hosts; cool layout of property of container tiny houses. Didn’t realize it was an adjoining unit of another tiny house without carefully reading. The dirt road that led to property had more than expected traffic that can be heard from inside this unit. Could also use cozier lighting like lamps since the lights were all drop downs from ceiling

Groovy Baby!!

We couldn't have asked for a better experience. The hosts JD and Mary Susan were very friendly and welcoming. Great communication and answered a couple of questions we had before we booked promptly. The facility is fantastic and the perfect place for a couple on a trip to wine country. You are close enough to town that it's a quick trip in for dinner and far enough out to get a true country experience. It's also easy to take the back roads to catch the wine trail in Stonewall and miss the Fredericksburg traffic. The sunsets are amazing and the stars beautiful at night around the fire pit. The rooms are new and modern. Very comfortable and have every thing you need with some nice personal touches. Not a full kitchen but we were not looking for one as we wanted to enjoy the great dining in town. And if you are traveling with your pets, they are extremely dog friendly even with larger dogs. Two other couples had their dogs with them as well. No fenced area for the dogs but walking on a leash was no problem and there is a huge hay field in the back of the property that the dogs loved to run in. We'll be back for sure and highly recommend staying here.

Perfect weekend getaway!

This is a perfect place to stay when either visiting Fredericksburg, or just when you want some peace and quiet. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the concept of each of Odonata Escapes shipping container cabins. So sleek and modern, but cozy and comfortable at the same time, with the owner's personal touches in each cabin. J.D. and Mary Susan (owners)are awesome and attentive. Can't wait to return!!

Better than the pictures

When my girlfriend and I saw the place online, we were excited because it looked funky and fun and also clean. When we showed up, we were impressed by the quality of the construction, the cleanliness of the property, and most of all, the comfort of the mattress. We have stayed in many vacation rental properties but none compare to the blissful sleep that we both received each night of our stay.

Great place!

Five minute drive from Main Street, Fredericksburg, to the quiet of country living. This place was very nice and comfortable. The owners made us feel very welcomed, like we were new neighbors. The grounds are lovely and has a very nice fire pit with chairs all around. We would definitely go back and stay here again!

The best place to stay near Fredericksburg!

Loved everything about this place - the property was great, only a few minutes drive to Main Street but felt very removed, nice and quiet. The unit itself was clean, comfortable, and so cute! There's even a fire pit and s'mores supplies are provided. Definitely recommend this place over the overpriced hotels in town, I'll for sure be back!

Fantastic!

Took my 23 year old niece on a girls trip with me and we had a blast! Better than we could have hoped for! Cute, stylish, with all the comforts of hone. Enjoyed the fire pit with the provided supplies for s’mores. Can not say enough about how much we enjoyed our time. We will be back!

Both the hosts were amazing. Upon our arrival, we were greeted my Mary Susan on her way to put s’mores kits by the fire pit. We dropped our stuff off, went to dinner and get a few drinks, and when we got home, her husband greeted us and made sure we were doing ok. The place was exactly as pictured, very clean, quiet and we had wonderful instructions on how to get there. We will definitely be coming back and bringing some friends!

Really nice getaway

We thought this was a great place to stay. They’d thought of everything in the cabin, it was was clean, and the location was convenient to town. The cabin had a cute front porch for enjoying coffee and sitting with our dogs. I didn’t realize there was going to be a cute reading nook and I loved it. The owner was also super nice and friendly. We highly recommend.
