We enjoyed our stay at Fripp and there are definitely positives about this property, along with several areas that need attention. The location is fantastic with truly unbeatable views. The owners were also very responsive, and the interior of the home was clean upon arrival. That said, the home feels somewhat tired and in need of maintenance and updating. The couches are extremely worn and covered with bedsheets, the upstairs carpeting is stained and well beyond its useful life, and several rusted items inside the home — including a floor fan and shower rod in the primary suite — should be replaced. The primary bed was also overly soft due to multiple mattress pads, making it somewhat uncomfortable for sleeping. Our biggest disappointment was the condition of the outdoor areas. The deck was covered in dead bugs, both screen doors were torn, portions of the outdoor furniture had green mildew, and the garage/garbage areas had noticeable cobwebs and bug buildup. We completely understand that this is a beach house where rust and insects are common, but many of these issues could have been improved with better routine cleaning and maintenance prior to arrival. With some basic upkeep and updating, this property could better reflect its premium location and views. Overall, we still enjoyed our stay, and if these items were addressed, we would absolutely consider staying here again.
