When we moved in, the unit was not very clean, with LOTS of open food containers, grocery bags left behind, laundry was left in both the washer and dryer, towels and linens unstacked, and it smelled strongly of air freshener. It had an unclean and unkept feel. The cleaners and prior guests had done little to straighten up. We were there for a month, so we cleaned more thoroughly. But when I had to clean the vacuum because it was so dirty and full that it overheated and quit working, I asked for compensation. The management company refunded almost double what I proposed, so I felt they treated me quite fairly. And promptly. The rest of the stay went very well.
