Comfy and friendly

The hotel has a beautiful lobby, a restraunt, a bar, a nice view. Some things need some maintenance but the rooms are nice and comfy. Our toilet didn't like to flush. We were on the street side for the lowest price and brought ear plugs and needed them for the street noise. Overall, we slept great. Staff was amazingly friendly and breakfast was great. The lady in there is a sweetheart.

Really like that the rooms have vinyl and not carpet made for a cleaner feel. The rooms were clean and nice. Really enjoyed the lake view and that they offer tables and chairs outside each room so you can sit outside and enjoy. Great playground and pool for the kids and a dock to fish off of. Close driving distant to restaurants. I would stay here again. Very great price for what you get.

Our room had multiple spiders & spider webs. Had to kill 2 black widow spiders as soon as we got into the room. Alone the edge of the ceiling and wall were spider webs that looked to have been there a while. On the floor alone the edge of the bed, it looks like it has not been swept for a while. Staff was great. But we were told that because hotel is on a lake, they can’t do anything about the spiders. The room we stayed in had obviously had not been pro cleaned in some time. Changing the sheets and towels does not constitute a clean room.

This is obviously an older building. But it was on par with what we expected for the money. It was odd that our balcony was across the breezeway from our room! Unique experience for sure! Bed was comfortable, room smelled a little funny, mildew on ceiling in bathroom. AC worked well, hair dryer worked, hangers provided, and the mirror in the bathroom was so nice!

Staff is very friendly. View was beautiful on bottom floor. Labor Day weekend so it was full capacity and a bit loud at night. Pool was nice!! Rooms could be cleaner but the bed was very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

Time spent in Gunterville's

Upon arrival we realize that the hotel wss too close to 2 intersecting highways. We were first placed in a room that was close to the intersection. I requested a different away from that corner. That did place me in another room but on the same side of bldg. The noise from big trucks to loud motorcycles could be heard all through the night, making it impossible to sleep. We were suppose be there for 2 nights but checked out the next morning. Before check out the desk clerk did offer to change our room from front to the back of the building, which was kind of her to offer. The day before the clerk said it would cost me $30 a night to be placed on the back of the bldg. The room was clean and smelled nice. The halls could have been swepted clean. The breakfast was good. A little sound proofing of those street side rooms would be great or a cheap par of ear buds. It was the loudest noise ever!

Overall our stay was a good one at this motel. However, 3 things stand out: 1-There was some light glass in the parking lot. 2-Had to move to a higher-level room (some of the ground floor rooms were damp). 3-Our final night (Sat-Sun) the occupants next door were extremely loud, and they even pounded on our interior adjoining room door. We had to call security and felt unsafe throughout the night as they continued to play their loud music inside their room. Guntersville is an extremely quiet and safe community. But the occupants next door that night were the complete opposite. I do a lot of business in Guntersville, and unless these issues are corrected, I cannot in good conscience recommend any of my business associates to use this motel for their other vendors, etc.
