While the home is nothing fancy, it was clean and more than spacious enough for the 10 of us. We were only there for two nights for a wedding, but would have been comfortable for longer had we been able to stay.

Check Expectations- we won’t rent again

This property is absolutely an old home
 but I think the property owner lists it as that as a way of scape goating that the home is in disrepair and needs updating. The reviews here about bugs are 1000% correct. We had hornets and Chinese lady bugs all over in the home when we arrived; we had to chase them and kill them for a good hour before feeling comfortable. One of the patio doors we opened had a hoard of bugs along the threshold that flew at us when we opened the door
 not something I want to relive haha. The kitchen cabinets were oily and the walls had splatter marks, cabinet laminate was being held on with scotch tape, the fridge door had duct tape doing its work there. The microwave screen didn’t work, there were lamps without working light bulbs, the coffee bar had a keureg but the outlet was non functional so we couldn’t use it. One of the stove burners almost burned me when I turned it on from the uneven and strong flame that came out of it. The toilet in our room was slow to flush we were scared to use it. None of the windows seemed to open (broken hardware) and the blinds were also broken and filthy. It was colder on the main floor for sure even with heat running and there were no extra blankets. The shuffleboard they have is so used that there is a layer of MDF dust on the side. On the plus side, it’s a nice property location, newer deck, good stocked kitchen, good space.., grill had propane ready to go, fire had firewood ready to go. Good WiFi service ,.

Family stay

Overall, this was a great stay and I would have no issues booking this place again if we come back to Galena sometime. It was plenty big for our family. Showers were hot and towels provided. Yes, the place could use some updating and it isn't all modern but it more than met our needs for the price. Beds and bedding could be updated but they work but we aren't super picky. There is a TV in the master bed room that is hooked up to the antenna but doesn't get any channels so bring a Roku or Fire stick if you want to use it. Kitchen had everything that we needed. Fridge works fine but shelves and stuff are in kind of rough shape. Loved the open kitchen and living room area. Nice big table to eat around and play games. Nice big smart TV in main room to watch. The area is beautiful. I enjoyed a nice run on the path one morning and on the treadmill in the owners club another. It was nice to get a discount on the golf as well. If you are looking for a swanky place to stay then this isn't for you. If you are looking for a decent place at a good price that checks the boxes then by all means this might be your place.

Bachelorette weekend

There were worms in house, especially on bottom level. Tried to vacuum, but vacuum did not work. Oven was not heating up on bake, had to use broil to cook. Location was very nice, we still e our stay, but could of been a little cleaner.

Perfect for family gathering!

We booked this house as one of four, for a family reunion centered on the Owner's Club (which is right around the corner). The EXTREMELY well-stocked kitchen made it a breeze to cook for a crowd; the cozy backyard fire-pit (and generous supply of s'mores ingredients - how thoughtful!) made for a delightful evening gathering; and the layout of the open-plan living area provided room for the whole 25-some clan to comfortably relax and reconnect. Not the "flashiest" property around, but absolutely the homiest and most welcoming. Thank you for a lovely time!

Good enough, but


Kind of neglected, older house. Clean enough, but by no means perfect. My husband had to spend over an hour cleaning the gas grill to get it to minimal standards, the oven drawer (where pans are stored) in the house was full of crumbs and grease, the carpets could use a good shampoo or be replaced. The space is wonderful with plenty of bedrooms and baths, and we really enjoyed the amenities of the owners club facility.

This rental worked good for our family getaway together. It is a dated home but is functional in every way. Nice big kitchen to work around, big eating area and open concept to be able to chat and watch the kids. Ample bedding arrangements and bathrooms. Spacious area including a nice screened in porch. We did have some bugs as per previous remarks but we figure we are next to woods. Depends on your take on things. Close to pool and marina which works well for us.

Great memories for family Christmas

The house was very comfy for our family , and very nice having 5 bedrooms and 3 1/2 bathrooms! Our grandchildren enjoyed the gym and pool (Activity Center). The kitchen was well equipped ! We definitely will stay again .

Family Reunion

Beautiful area. The 3 floors worked well for our 3 couples. The house needs some work: some windows had broken mechanisms and didn’t open/close. The deck needed paint. The screens in the screened in area off dining room were dirty and had cobwebs. Overall, nice place, though.

We were there for a wedding and Galena ya a very pretty area.

The place was ok not what was expected. It was not very clean. There were chips under coffee table and on the leg(didn’t pick up as shouldn’t have to be cleaning up after cleaners), chocolate chip cookie on the stand for the tv trays and a bunch of chocolate on the floor. The coffee pot was all limed up and didn’t work we had to go buy one. There were ants everywhere, stepping on them the whole time we were there. Cobwebs and spiders all over the place. We couldn’t even let the baby down on the floor or rug as very unsure if it was safe. Kitchen back splash had food splashed on it had to clean ourselves. The range hood was filthy and no lens cover on the light. Overhead lights full of dead bugs. Downstairs bathroom ceiling need wiped down as rust spots from moisture and it looks like maybe black mold by the exhaust fan. There were also ants in the upstairs bathroom and floor looked like it needed cleaned. Overall I think the house needs some work done to it for the price you pay to stay there for a night. One thing that was nice is there were a lot of kitchen dishes and such. The refrigerator is taped together and was dirty so an upgrade is needed

New Year family getaway

This property was the right size for the 10 of us to be together over the long New Years weekend. There were enough bedrooms and bathrooms and all kinds of cooking utensils, pots, pans and dishes. It is an older home and could use a some repairs and updates but worked very well for us. Recommend your vehicles have 4 wheel drive if you visit in winter. Had one car that couldn’t make it up the driveway because of ice. Another had the same problem trying to leave the territory.

Great girls getaway

Sisters, sisters-in-law and nieces. We had a great weekend. The location was great and the drive out from Galena was gorgeous with fall colors. We had plenty of beds and bathrooms and we loved the kitchen space. We played games and ate meals around the large dining room table. Would definitely stay again.
