We had a problem with doors staying closed during a storm in the middle of the night. Doors flew open with rain pouring in and we had to place the dining table in front of one to keep it closed. It took 4 senior citizen women to keep front door closed and move the table in front of it. We contacted the emergency number that said they would contact host along with a picture of the table placed against door. We also contacted host in the morning with a message and got no response. We understand there was a storm but someone should have checked on us in the morning. Before we arrived the French doors had not been properly locked into door frame. After the storm, this was a problem we had to figure out ourselves. These were two sets of French doors, located in the front and back of home. Very disappointed that host did not response. This is a beautiful place and located not too far from many attractions.
The house was clean, modern and furnished for comfort. However, the mattresses on the trundle bed in the bunk room need to be replaced to be used by adults.
Fabulous property, so well presented. We had a great time, we will be back for sure. The only complaint I had was the lack of towels but everything else was fabulous.
We loved the house it was very comfortable for the 4 of us. Each room had its own bathroom which we loved! We had a little issue getting into the house but it was fixed within minutes. Would love to go back!
Blue Pelican was the perfect setup for 3 adult couples and our new 6 month grandbaby to spend the week for an upcoming weekend. Bedrooms and adjoining bathrooms were large and comfortable and we all felt as if we had the master suite! Living areas and kitchen spacious and lovely views from every window. Highly recommend
This was our second stay at this house and we absolutely love this house. It's spacious. It's the perfect location for everything we needed. Very quiet neighborhood which was a plus for us.
Loved the location the house was wonderful. The only it problem was the thermostats were not marked and the downstairs thermostat controlled the upstairs.
I am extremely dissatisfied with the cleanliness of this property. Upon arrival, I found the patio door wide open. Despite sending messages, I only received empty promises. I was assured someone would come by the morning to spray, but no one ever showed up. As a result, my guest endured mosquito bites and encountered beds infested with bugs, including large water bugs. We also had to find and flip the breaker box for power to parts of the home. I finally received a response from Kyle on the day of check-out, but it was too late. No accommodations were made for what we experienced. At the very least, I would expect a partial refund.
The property and location worked well for us. Nine senior citizens ... no problem. The elevator was a key feature in our decision making. We were not disappointed.
I booked this place for a business trip as we were down here for a conference along with some work events. The house was perfect as it was huge and spacious with a really cool elevator that made it very convenient. Nice sunset views of the bay when it wasn't foggy and is located close to Moody Gardens and restaurants. Three of my work colleagues and my wife stayed in the house as everyone had a great comfortable time. The AC can get downright cold in the house which was perfect for us guys that are usually hot all the time. Wish I could have been there for personal vacation, but we will just have to book it again sometime. Definitely recommend this place!
PERFECT space for 10 of us to gather. Loved the porches, living space, plenty of bathrooms, large table to sit around and quiet neighborhood yet close to all that Galveston has to offer for activities.
The property itself is great. All 8 of us loved the house and location. There is a learning curve with using the dishwasher, microwave, elevator and lights/ceiling fans, no instruction manuals to be found. An instruction sheet would have gone a long way decreasing the frustration level. We put in numerous calls to report issues and talked to the representative who stated that they were not familar with the property and the local representative would call. They never did even after numerous attempts describing issues. Some of the issues were small like the toilet paper holder in the master bathroom was not installed. It was in the linen closet just awaiting installation. The ceiling fan and light in the main area would not function. The elevator was difficult to figure out the correct sequence of events to operate, once again, a note on how to operate would have been nice. The reason that this was a big deal is that we had a guest with mobility issues and we picked this property based on having an elevator. The key to the downstairs elevator door was nowhere to be found which means anyone could access the property when all the other doors were locked. To top it off the hot water heater stopped functioning the day before we left so no hot showers. So overall a great time was had by all but it would have been a 5 star all the way with better property management.
We enjoyed our stay at the Blue Pelican so much. The location was great on the bay side of the island, about 6-8 minutes from town and secluded enough to not worry with a lot of noise. The house is just beautiful with all the amenities anyone would need. One suggestion of needing a toilet paper holder in the downstairs bedroom's en suite and a short instruction of the elevator. We were only 2 couples as one couple could not come at the last minute. We wish we could have shared it with several others. We will definitely be back again as we enjoyed the things we did in Galveston, but there is so much more to see and do.
Beautiful & clean; quiet location with awesome views. Nicely appointed, had everything we needed for a very enjoyable stay.
We had several issues with the elevator. I would suggest that someone check the locking mechanism on ground floor door of the elevator. The elevator locking mechanism doesnât always engage and must be checked each time itâs closed to be sure that it has locked before leaving the property. One time it locked us out of the elevator and another time we left, having shut the door and tested the lock only to return and find the elevator door was not locked.
