Unfortunately had a really poor experience here. Staff wasn’t overly welcoming and all interactions were very short and curt. Our room though was really bad. It smelled awful, very stale and unclean. The bedding itself smelled neutral, but throughout the night I could continually smell stale body odour which I believe may have been coming from the beds themselves. Our room was also right above the main entrance so we heard banging everytime the front door opened plus people standing out the front talking and vehicles idling, plus banging from adjacent room doors in the late evening and early morning. I did not bother to contact the staff during our stay due to their unfriendliness at check in and when we called down with questions later on.

We were very dissatisfied to be in an older area of the hotel when our other 8 friends were placed in rooms in the newer part of the hotel even though we all booked at the same time and paid the same amount.

We thought all was quite good. We were looking for more quiet within the pool/spa. It was a Saturday and wedding day so we get it. Wish the parents in the pool area with small kids would not entice screaming type play in the pool. If was painful and deafening which was a disappointment.

Main restaurant closed during our stay there was a bar and Grill available. They were somewhat shortstaffed took a while to get food and drinks. However, staff was very friendly and accommodating. This property lacked accessibility to drinks and snacks and coffee. These things only available in the restaurant.

Unbelievably noisy! There was a wedding party in the hotel for the one night we stayed. We could hear every song they blasted out of their speakers from the moment we entered the room (about 10:30 pm) until about 2:15 a.m. I called to complain about the racket they were making three times - at 11:00 pm, at about 12:15 am, and then again at 2:10 am (to ask why it had not stopped at 2:00 am). I complained to the manager the next morning. He said that there was nothing that they could or would do. I asked him why they gave us rooms that were not sound-proofed near the wedding music. He said that they were not as close to the wedding music as I thought (we were on the second floor; wedding was on ground floor). I could not believe he was telling me that there were possibly rooms closer again to the wedding music! Neither of us could sleep. I will never stay in this hotel again. Never. Do not on your life stay in this hotel if there is a wedding; you will know the entire playlist of the wedding band/DJ if you do, every note. I have stayed in many hotels in many parts of the world; this was the worst for noise *ever*.

Excellent Stay

Lovely comfortable stay at Salthill Hotel as a guest of a wedding. The hotel is gorgeous and staff were so friendly. Rooms are spacious with a comfortable bed and good TV.
