We were not impressed with Gardiner, and would not stay here again. It felt like a small dying town in October. The dining options were limited. This hotel was adequate, but they really need a bathroom update! The bedroom area and beds were good. If you do stay here, definitely get a river view room.

Loved our stay in one of the cabins. Such a beautiful area. Was fun watching the elk graze from the front porch. Only drawback is elk poo everywhere. Couldn’t take advantage of the yard games without dodging elk patties. Overall, the property is dog-friendly and all the little extras (coffee, water bottles, free laundry facilities, s’mores kits, game room, pool/hot tub) made our stay very enjoyable! Try the elk chili from the restaurant next door! Close to north entrance of Yellowstone and that’s about the only benefit. Photos were nothing like the room. Mountain View is not really a Mountain View. Shower looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in sometime. They shut the fire off at 9 and it was supposed to go until 11.

Our room was a dungeon...one of the worst in the hotel...located off an interior hallway with a block wall inches from the only window! Musty, dated, and dimly lit. And it wasn't cheap! The patio fire pit area (which looks so inviting on the website) only sits a limited number of people so was completely filled and unavailable for our use.

We had stayed here before and it was nice. We were in the main building. This time we were in the side building and it was quite run down. Looks old & therefore not very clean. We had a shredded screen on our window. Was not pleased and will not stay here again.

Did not look like the pictures. This is more like a cheap $50 a night hotel room. Our carpet was stained and if you want a hot shower, expect no water pressure. Our “Mountain View” room, which we paid extra for, was really a view of the parking lot with people walking by (we were on the ground floor). The windows were dirty anyway so our drapes were always shut when we were in the room. The receptionist we dealt with was rude. We came back after one long day in Yellowstone to find our room door wide open. The person who cleaned that day didn’t pull the door shut. Thank goodness we had honest people around us and nothing was stolen. Gardiner is a great place to stay to see Yellowstone, but I would never stay here again.

The room was clean and comfortable. You are given a metal reusable water bottle upon arrival and can refill it with fresh, cold filtered water in the office anytime. There is a great market within walking distance, for very good breakfast sandwiches, fruit, snacks…Sidleys is the name. Wildlife everywhere in town, we loved watching it all.
