Great location. Next to creek was cool. Loved all the hooks in room. Plenty of room to add another table for luggage and such. Bathroom. NO grab bars and a high tub. An accident waiting to happen. My husband had to help me in and out. No hooks in bathroom to hang clothes or towels. Vanity small so could use another table. Nice gift bag on arrival. I liked the place but bathroom needs help.

The front desk staff were very friendly and gave lots of tips about the area. The room was spacious, and the bed comfortable. The view from the balcony was beautiful, but we couldn't stay out because someone nearby was always smoking. We did not try the breakfast as we planned to go out for pancakes. The decor needs an update, but it was an ok value.

The breakfast wasn’t very good and had limited variety. The room definitely needs an upgrade. The carpeting was bunched up in places and a tripping hazard. The wifi was terrible. We also thought it was closer to downtown.

Worst place to stay

When we got to the room opened the door it was like walking into the sixties the room was as small as our kitchen there was no fireplace or jacuzzi like we had ask for you could tell the bath tub was original golden yellow and very nasty The people at the front desk acted pissed off because we had gone through Hotels.com said if we had any problems or complaints to talk to Hotels.com not them. During our stay the only thing that the maid service did was bring towels also the carpet was so nasty large stains everywhere. When we checked out the person at the front desk gave me there card and told me that the next trip to not go through any other business but to call them. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone

Disappointing & Discusting

The dirtiest hotel I have stayed at. The urine smell was overwhelming. I had to buy clorox bleach and there was alot of dried urine in the grout around the toilet where the maid is not cleaning properly. The urine smell in the bathroom was overwhelming. There was also urine smell by nightstand in the carpet. The carpets need replacement and if they cant afford to replace they need to disinfect & steam clean the carpets. I had to spray bleach on the inside of the shower curtain to kill the mold. I got carpet cleaner & cleaned the carpet by the nightstand due to the overwhelming urine smell. This was the dirtiest hotel room I have ever stayed in. We spent 40 on cleaning supplies & air freshener to kill the gross smell in the room. I had to clean & disinfect everything in the room & bathroom. We had to open the front & back doors for several hours & had the box fan going to air out the room as well. I would never stay here again it was very disappointing because the stream that runs along the back of the property is beautiful. They elevator windows are gross and need to be cleaned and the walkways coming off the elevators are filthy. They need to make their staff deep clean their facility. Old facilities are okay to stay at, but Brookside takes no pride in keeping their property & rooms clean. Cleaning is not expensive you all should be ashamed of yourselves for renting rooms like this. It was just gross! Cleaning & elbow grease is cheap. Fresh paint is also cheap!! Do BETTER!

Overall the room was clean. The property shows signs of wear and in need of upgrade. Our room was large with fireplace but we had a broken grate, had to pay for wood and only one poker. Beds were ok nothing special. I’d give it an overall 3 star but it did offer feathers that we liked and the price was good.

The room was very dated, and there was a large gap between the door and frame that let in a lot of bugs. We reported it, but the door never did get fixed. They sprayed for bugs, which helped with that issue. The back balcony was the draw for the room, but it had not been cleaned of leaves, bugs, etc for some time and had not been sprayed to prevent bugs. It was un-usage during our stay.

We booked a deluxe room and were very disappointed. Clearly, that is not a deluxe room (we travel 5-6 times/year, we know what a deluxe room looks like). The room was dirty with spider webs on the ceiling. We dropped an item on the floor and accidentally looked under the bed - oh dear lord, what was happening there, it looked like that floor did not know what a vacuum is. Also, the view was a house under construction with a lot of noise. The breakfast is limited and has very inconvenient hours, 8-11, while every hotel we've been to has it 6-11. If you want to go up the mountain early to avoid all the traffic, you basically paid for nothing; you have to buy your own breakfast. We will never go back there!
