B&B . Could have been cleaned a little better on floor boards and some cobwebs. Outside grounds were not well kept. That being said , we had clean towels, hot water, good breakfast and a comfortable bed
The building / Bed and Breakfast InnâŠwas there during the battle of Gettysburg and was used as a hospital for wounded soldiers, The rooms were very comfortable and authentic for the 19th Century giving one the feeling of traveling back in time.
I am so glad we stayed here. It was oerfect. Close to everything and fit right in with the decor of ling ago. We plan to return to Gettysburg and will be staying here again!!!!
Breakfast was difficult to nail down. Online stated 9-11 and it was 8:30-930 at the house. Parking passes were not handed out to several guests. That was frustrating. The house itself is clean and a beautiful representation of the houses of the era. Its history from the battle of Gettysburg is immense and deep. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were a bit stiff for my liking. And the pillow fee is mind boggling. I would sincerely think about removing that cost from the billing. I donât think people are wanting to take your pillows, or at least the pillows I was using.
Staffing becomes an issue during the day as well. Sometimes thereâs no one available to help if a problem were to arise. I feel that should be remediated. The toilets take some getting used to flushing, but they do flush. Just be prepared. Overall I did enjoy the feeling and dynamic of the houses and guests. I would consider staying here again.
After a hot day at bike week in Gettysburg, we were so excited to get back to our suite at the Tillie Pierce house to cool down. Much to our dismay we walked into our room and it was very warm. We saw that the rooms could'nt be controlled individually and were so hot all night and could barely sleep. Bed was very comfy but because of the temperature, it didnt matter. Also, the house is not staffed so noone to help if there is a non emergency issue. Breakfast smelled great the next morning, but we were excited to get back to our air conditioned home. We will go back to the Farnsworth House again next time.
