Everything was as advertised except a fireplace. There were two fireplaces in the house but guests were not allowed to use. This made no difference to us as our stay was excellent.
House was cute, in a good location, well stocked. Living room couch had several stains and was in very poor condition. Hot tub was nice, but was so chlorinated that we could not stay in very long due to discomfort. Overall functional house for a 2 night stay, several hand written notes with rules posted all over the house were a little ridiculous but did not interfere with our stay.
It's a very nice family friendly cabin for accessing the lake or the slopes, comfortable and cozy in a lovely quiet forest. I was disappointed that the spa and grill were not in usable order for our stay and that we couldn't trust that the dishes in the cabinet were clean.
You advertised and provided instructions to use the indoor fireplaces but there was signs all over telling us we cannot use it. We decided to stay here based off the offered amenities. Very disappointing. Also, the stairs from upper deck to lower deck are incredibly unsafe and were very wobbly. Gigantic gap can be seen from underneath and the stairs are only held on with a few nails or screws....not attached properly.
Overall cleanliness of home was fair. Couch was badly stained (gross actually), spiders and cobwebs in corners and hanging from lampshades. Needed a good deep clean. Towels & sheets were top-notch. Beds were comfortable. Grill barely worked.
At first, we were excited for this property and we thought it was going to be great. But here is a rundown of some of the things that we are upset about in addition to the air conditioning being broken for nearly 36 hours. Later the maintenance guy showed us the filters. It had obviously been a long time since Maintenance had been done. This cause them not to work when it was 100 out. The house stayed at over 85 inside for a day. Additionally:1. Upstairs bathroom Towels had stains/dirt on them from previous renter. They also left several boxes of beer box trash. We do not drink. 2. Downstairs TV had no channels or programming to watch. Which was bad because we were stuck down there due to the heat and broken AC. 3. Upstairs bedroom had curtain rod fall off of window(previously reported). We never used the room. 4. Downstairs sliding door was unlocked when arrived and could not be locked. Bad mechanism poor maintenance. 5. On the last night we could finally watch tv upstairs and enjoy the upstairs, but the Upstairs couch was very hard and appeared very old. It also had a stain on the ottoman portion. Looked real old, but for the cost expected more.
We checked in Friday night and arranged to checkout late on Sunday.Saturday morning, my adult son who had slept downstairs-reported that the mice in the room had kept him awake most of the night. Later he tried to have a nap and the mice were still running around and in fact just sitting next to the bed. I immediately called Vacasa and told them about the problem. That night (Sat) it got extremely cold. The downstairs was absolutely freezing to the point that, again, my adult sons, were shivering. The next morning, we heard a loud hissing noise from downstairs, and there was water coming out from under the baseboard heat. I immediately called Vacasa-they said they would call the Handyman. Approximately 30 minutes later, the handyman called me and said that he would be to the house in 45 minutes or so, I told him I believed it was a burst pipe and he arrived about an hour later, with no equipment to fix it. He then left and returned a few hours later, the water was gushing, even worse. I asked him if we should take showers now, and he said that the water had nothing to do with the problem he was there to fix. What we did not know was that he had turned off the heat and hot water so that within an hour, it was freezing upstairs and we could not shower because there was no hot water. Called Vacasa again-and we left. Vacasa is refusing to compensate me in any way for my trouble-that because the Handyman was there when I left-it was being fixed-and thatâs good enough.
We had a great stay at this property. It was very conveniently located near Gunstock Ski Resort. The hot tub was perfect after a long day skiing and tubing. The home was clean and well-furnished.
We were very disappointed with this rental for two reasons; no working fireplace and poor cleaning job done. If you advertise a home with 2 fireplaces and send an email with instructions how to use it, then I would expect to have a working fireplace! We stopped on our way to load up with wood for our ski weekend only to find out it was out of order. This should have been communicated to us before our arrival. Thid was one of the main reasons we wanted to rent this property! The cleaning crew did a terrible job by leaving the kitchen trash bucket full, as well as the recycling bin full of glass bottles & cans. While loading the frig we discovered a used container of ice cream and a half eaten bowl of ice cream with a spoon still in it. And in one of the bedrooms there was a dresser with clothes in it left behind by previous renters.Because of these inconveniences we had to start off our stay by calling Vacasa Management to log our list of complaints. We were told that someone would stop by to collect the trash but nobody ever came. They apologized for the non working fireplaces and clothes left behind. And I should also mention the LR sofa should be cleaned of all its stains. Someone should also check the dryer for a terrible odor left on laundered clothes. We have requested our cleraning fee be reimbursed so I'm curious to see how their customer service will handle our dissatisfaction. This property is over-rated and lacks many things. We will not be returning.
After confirming two times prior to my arrival that the fireplace was working I arrived with firewood I was told to purchase myself to a fireplace that wasnât working. My vision of my family relaxing by a cozy fireplace during our winter vacation was ruined. After texts and phone calls to attempt to resolve the issue I kept being assured that the âlocal teamâ would be in touch but I never heard from them. I was offered a whopping 150 credit. So incredibly disappointed with this VRBO and Vacasa experience and the owner should take some accountability for the false advertising.
The property was in a good location as far as activities didnât like the neighborhood HOA feeling and the offensive neighbors signs. beds are comfortable furniture needs to be deep cleaned. over all price was good and home was clean.
The cleanliness to this property was less than acceptable. Food and dirty undergarments left under a bed. Dirt and dust everywhere. Coffee grinds in coffee pot. Grease and dust on appliances. Was in immediate contact w property management who said someone would come and clean but no one came. Furniture stains are dishusting. Falsely advertising fire pit in the description title but you canât use it. You donât know this until You arrive to see you need a permit. When you check out you get a notice that the fire pit is for owners only. Never mentioned anywhere in Our contracts or on the site. Hot tub was not working and appears it has been that way for awhile based on reviews. That was mentioned on the listings.although it sleeps 12, Living area and Kitchen area doesnât accommodate Seating for more than 6 people.
It is a shame that the cleanliness and listing was misleading because the layout was good and house well stocked for what you need. Nice quiet neighborhood close to everything and all attractions.
Overall this property was great! We loved the hot tub and were very happy with the space! We did see quite a few ants and spiders in the house, but that was the only complaint we had. The management team was very responsive to any messages I sent them and even offered early check-in. I would definitely stay here again!
We had a wonderful stay here. We loved the location of the house and neighborhood. The house was clean and great communication with property management. We will come back!
We had a great week at Deer Run Lane! We booked almost a year in advance to ski at Gunstock Mountain. You can't beat the proximity to the mountain! The house is an "upside down house" with the majority of the living space/ kitchen/ etc. on the second floor (two bedrooms up & two bedrooms down). It gets lots of natural sunlight.
We were provided with ample towels, toiletries and other supplies which aren't typically provided in a home rental.
I booked through VRBO but this property is managed by Vacasa. Had I known I probably could have saved a bit by booking directly with Vacasa. The few times I contacted Vacasa (in advance) it took them a long time to get back to me and didn't seem to be local to NH.
Our only feedback would be more/ better instructions on how to operate the hot tub & flue for the fireplace. We would definitely book this home again!
