The staff members are what make this hotel a good hotel. Breakfast was great - reasonable choice for the Continental element and then a cooked offering on top! I might have missed it, but a bowl of just bananas and apples would go down well with breakfast, for those who want it!

Bare minimum

Parking was in dark, poorly lit area. Room carpet was dirty and needed replacing. No luggage stands. Toilet flush refill made so much noise that neighbor was complaining.

These are the facts of our 1 night stay Stayed in a cottage room, twin 1 bed base was completely broken 1 duvet cover was unwashed Tea and coffee dish was unwashed 1 mug was covered in “powder “ Back door didn’t have a curtain and let the light in. Hall light was flickering. Shower head was broken Lady on reception was very lovely and helpful. Easy parking

This was a short notice stay in that our flight, hence trip to Ireland, was scrubbed. We thought a stay outside Edinburgh would be nice and Aberdour fits that bill. That being said we found the staff accommodating, the food very good and the location is good with a short walk to the railway etc.

Public areas are really nice, staff were excellent and food in the Cary Grill was excellent. Hotel slightly let down by aging condition of rooms. TV not working properly and bathroom shower was a challenge to operate and keep the shower head from continuously dropping off.
