My room was clean and I enjoyed the property, the building is old but has been renovated and I enjoyed using the old school lift.
Staff were also very friendly and nice during check in.
Unfortunately they had a big party at the bar downstairs with really loud music, that kept going until early morning and my sleep was really disrupted, the hotel provided ear plugs which was nice but I didnt appreciate the lack of sleep.
Free parking. Enter into pub to check in. 3 sets stairs or a 100-yr old elevator to get to room. Noisy at night because over a pub and rowdy street. Room fan can be controlled but heating & cooling controlled centrally. Stunning newly renovated bathrooms ('shared', but you get the whole open-plan shower & toilet to yourself at any given time)
While the property was clean, modernly renovated, l was unaware the restaurant turned into a nightclub until 2am.
The noise in room 203 was unacceptable, even with supplied earplugs ( huge red flag) there was no discussion or pre - notice from the staff on check in l may experience loud noise in that room, which was very disappointing.
This was a one night stay driving south. I had stayed at the hotel previously. The staff were friendly, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I didn't need the air conditioning.
I used the lift a couple of times and while it worked was very old and I dare say ahead of its time when installed.
Parking was a bit limited and for a while I had to park in the street.
I would stay there again.
Overall all good lovely Hotel food not bad but so many restaurants round to choose from all within short walk distance pricing reasonable only complaints are bathrooms depending which end of floor can be a bit of a bother and car park first in first served.
Super clean rooms, amazing bathroom renovations have been done.
Staff were polite and always helpful. The bistro does amazing food all day. Canât fault this stay.
