We loved the glass frying pan. Hope we can find one like it to buy We liked all things about your place.. It was very cozy and comfy.. Check in was a breeze
Close to downtown shops and restaurants. The sauna was a lovely touch. Beautiful Lake Superior views from the deck. Kitchen had everything we needed. Plenty of towels and linens for our family of four to enjoy. Host was responsive and a great communicator. Recommend for sure!
Spacious accommodation, everything worked great and met our needs. Tina was very helpful and answered all our questions. Perfect location for touring the area.
The location is just North of Grand Marais and close to many Hiking areas. Listing is accurate but a bit sparse on the comfortable living room furniture. Nice deck with lake view but unfortunately we had rain and very cool weather so were not able to enjoy it to the fullest.
We loved our stay at the Wolf's Den! The apartment was super clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The view of the lake was the best part...just sitting there watching and listening to the waves come in was so peaceful! We will be back!
It was a very nice place to stay. I only have 3 nitpicking items; not enough signage on the road, the water was overly softened and didn't taste good/hard to wash off soap, and noise traveled easily from upstairs/next door at night.
We enjoyed our stay. Morning breakfast and coffee on the deck were great. We sat there until noon most days. This place is very clean and well stocked. King bed very comfortable. Great access to everything in the area. Only thing missing for us were comfortable chairs to sit in instead of hard futons.
Would certainly stay again.
This accommodation featured a beautiful view, and the sound of Lake Superior's shoreline. We worked remotely over the week and Tina was very responsive to make sure that the internet enabled us to work. Thank you Tina.
This place worked out perfectly for me and my 2 friends. It is just set back from the water, but you get a great view from the deck and can hear the waves crashing all night long. We also took advantage of the sauna.
Great location for hiking trips to the northern-most parks and trails or day trips into Canada. We really enjoyed the patio, which was nice even on the chilly, breezy, end-of-summer days. The attention to detail provided by our host was noticed and appreciated.
NOTE: there are stairs, but they are very manageable
The property was basically as stated. All was fine with the exception of the couch. It needs to be replaced with one which does not hurt the back.
Good location, being near, but not in, the town of Grand Marias.
Every aspect of our stay was great, communication, view, close to town, close to beaches, very clean, roomy. We stayed (3 people) the first part of August in The Wolfs Den, we enjoyed chill time on the balcony in the morning with coffee and evening to relax from a busy day out. We even had a snow shoe bunny stop to visit a couple of times.
My mom and I stayed at the Wolf's Den while taking an acrylic painting class with the Grand Marais Art Colony. Great view from the deck of the lake. The space had everything we needed for a perfect lake side art retreat.
It's conveniently located to Grand Marais. It has the look and feel of a basement that was remodeled to create a rental. It's not bad at all, it just seemed a little more expensive than I would think is warranted. But...I would stay there again.
We had a great stay. Wanted a central location to go on the Gunflint Trail, attend Rendezvous in Thunder Bay, and see the sights nearby. This place is cute and very easy to access. It also has a great deck to view the lake and unwind each day. It has all the necessary things for a relaxing stay. My only slight issue was the bed in the living room. I got the couch. I am a bit older and don't sleep as well on any surface. It is quite a hard surface. It might be nice to have an extra pillow top for those of us that aren't young who can sleep on anything. If we head back up that way, I would definitely stay here again. Couldn't ask for a nicer host. She was attentive to everything as well as just plain friendly (worth a lot!).
Lovely view, friendly host, quiet and peaceful location and well equipped kitchen - it was great to be able to eat in. Definitely recommending to friends!
We are big fans of Grand Marais and have been there many times, staying at a variety of other places. We found Wolf's Den on a VRBO search. We absolutely loved it....very clean, great location, comfortable, and Tina was a great host. We would absolutely stay at this location again on a future visit.
Well thought out and very clean. Lovely views of the big lake from every window. Tina answered questions promptly. Just what you need is supplied. Not luxurious, but adequate. The sauna was a nice touch on a cold winter day!
Convenient to Grand Marais, workable kitchen. Complete with view and sound of Lake Superior from living area and deck. The deck is shared partially for access with adjacent rental unit but felt very private. Unit had a feeling more to private hotel suite than to cabin. Exits, stairs and instructions were very clear and welcoming. It reminded me of my stay at Gunflint Lodge Cabin with the sauna and privacy. Excellent jumping off point to local state parks and trails and short drive to lakeshore. Proximity to Grand Marais providing all amenities.
Tina clearly has this place run like a well-oiled machine. The space was simple & compact but well-utilized. It was clearly designed for weekenders like us. No space was wasted, & we had everything we needed. The furnishings & kitchenware were new, & the place was very clean. The primary bedroom's bed & bedding were super comfortable, & the waves crashing outside of our window on Lake Superior sounded like a noise machine. The place is conveniently located three minutes north of downtown Grand Marais right off 61. We could have walked. There was plenty of room for the three of us, & there was even room for us to leave our toiletries in the bathroom. While the place sleeps five, I'd be wary of having more than four adults. The place heated up quickly, but the heater is loud (white noise), so that could be a drawback for some, but it actually helped muffle the noise of those getting up early &/or in the middle of the night. When it comes to reviews, I default to four stars unless someone goes above & beyond to impress, & I gave this place five stars across the board!
