We booked this charming little mountain getaway for my husband, my sister, and my parents to stay in for my cousins wedding. The property itself is beautiful and the outdoor spaces were great- the large front porch with mountain views, etc. Unfortunately it rained all weekend so we did not get to use the outdoor fireplace but that looked lovely. The large living room with fireplace was also very nice and cozy and the kitchen had the basics we needed. The basement where my husband and I stayed, however, could use some updating. The entire basement just smelled really musty and was hard to tolerate. It needs maybe a dehumidifier and some air fresheners. Some of the spaces seemed infrequently used, and there were quite a few dead bugs on the floors of some of the rooms. The bathroom tub didn’t drain well at all, so we showered in standing water. Also the hot water was used after just one 10 minute shower and we had to either stagger showers greatly (not ideal with getting ready for wedding events) or deal with a short, cold shower. The larger room basement bed was so hard we had to play musical beds due to waking up so sore, and we like firm beds! The other bedroom smelled worse, but with the fan on to ventilate it, the fan shook and made all kinds of noise. The space worked for our needs, but as advertised with so many sleeping spaces, I would say the basement ones need some updating to feel clean and be comfortable. Overall really beautiful property and views with nice, rustic gathering areas, but basement sleeping areas needed some extra attention.
