Great communication from host. House was really nice and clean. Well stocked kitchen. Appreciate that there are some essential cooking ingredients, spices, etc. We had a great getaway.
I am all about reading reviews and would love for my review to help others when choosing this property for. So I will be completely honest. The home is beautiful; with a well stocked kitchen (to the max actually). Has a ton of amenities for summer fun., and with enough indoor entertainment options should it be a rainy day or winter time. However, and this is where I will list facts- not personal opinion. The cleaning crew needs to do a better job. Cobwebs not only on the vaulted ceiling and in hard to get areas, but on the chandelier right above the dinner table. The entire home has cobwebs in every crevice; and the amount of dust in places and on things is unreal. The rooms have very smelly carpet, extremely terrible mattresses, and dirty pillows. The living room space is small and the dining area does not accommodate 14 people. While you can split the group up and have the kids eat downstairs, it is not practical. Living room furniture is so old you fall in so far down youâre practically sitting on the ground. This goes to all the furniture in the home. Hot tub had leafs in it and the bottom was dirty. The upstairs room that sleeps a ton of people has the noisiest heater known to man, and turns on every 1-2minutes. You do have to take the trash out to the community dumpster or youâll pay a 150 fee if left in their garbage bins, but thatâs not really an issue, nor is it far to go. Hope this review helps clear some of the issues up for future stayers. Thank you!
We enjoyed the Elk Lodge and was very spacious. The kayak/canoes were a big hit with the teenagers. Hot tub was also nice. We were not able to get some of the TV's to work. They were not already signed onto the WiFi. And the last minute finding out we had to haul away the trash and pay to have it placed in dumpster. Probably should reveal this in the initial contact. Fun for all and we will be back again. Thank you!
We had a great weekend getaway with friends. Not only was this house gorgeous, it is located in a quiet little neighborhood perfect for relaxing. We spent most of our time on the dock socializing, taking in the views, and catching a few fish. We have already talked about making plans to bring our kids back next time because there is so much room in the house! We will be back!!
This was the perfect spot for a little girls getaway, but it would be perfect for a group of couples or family. Everything you need is there! Easy to walk in and get right to relaxing!
We were SO happy with our choice of Elk Lodge for a winter weekend in the Ozarks! House is exactly as pictured and well-equipped. Plenty of community and bedroom space for our assortment of kids and parents. Hot tub was amazing. Close to the water, excellent outdoor features - dock, fire pit, etc. Management was so responsive to questions and requests, including boat rentals and fishing bait. Hoping to come back again in warmer weather!
We stayed over Thanksgiving. The property is spacious and clean. The upstairs loft/bunk room is far enough removed from the main living area that you can't hear the kids, so that can be a positive or negative depending on ages. There are cameras on the house facing the water and dock. The fire pit and dock areas are nice. This part of the lake is mostly level ground, very quiet and has a great asphalt walking trail.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Elk Lodge!!! The home was spacious, clean, and comfortable... just as advertised! We took advantage of the dock, having rented a boat, and even hung out there -- swimming and fishing -- when not on the boat. We also played games around the large kitchen table that was able to seat all seven of us comfortably. We will definitely keep Elk Lodge on our list of homes to rent again!
Our family (3 siblings, 3 spouses and 6 kids) take one trip together each summer. We go to a different location each year, and this was the first time any of us had been to Lake of the Ozarks. We had a wonderful week in large part because of this home and the great communication from Pamela. All the information sent ahead of time was clear and remarkably thorough. The house was exactly as stated, and the layout worked great for our families. The furnishings were nice, and clean. The location of the house on the lake was great for swimming. The cove is very quiet and well protected from regular boaters going down the channel. Itâs not far from Laurie which had some good grocery store options and restaurants (highly recommended Phat Pizza). I would recommend this rental to anyone looking for a stay in the Ozarks.
We had a great time on our family vacation at Elk Lodge. The location was perfect on a quiet cove and close to the main channel. The whole family, aged 2-66 years old had a blast swimming, fishing, and boating! We would definitely consider the Elk Lodge property for future stays at Lake of the Ozarks!!
We frequently rent houses for sports tournaments and vacations and I have to say the house was great, but the management company was not so much.
The home itself was very nice. The kids loved the big bunk room and our bed in the master was very comfortable. The downstairs bedrooms are a little small if you need to squeeze in a pack and play, but fine just for adults. The dock provided hours of fun for fishing and swimming, but be very aware of tics. They need bigger frying pans and more large garbage bags, but that's more of an FYI. Close to a great grocery store, good restaurants and good doughnuts. Bridal Cave and Ha Ha Tonka were a favorite day trip.
The worst part of this vacation was dealing with the management company. We were in a unique situation where the owners were switching management companys after we already booked so we had to have more contact with them than usual. Also, we were going for the 4th of July so we had a couple extra questions. They messed up charges, took multiple days to answer questions and it generally took multiple attempts to even get them to respond. It made dealing with this house very frustrating. They advertised having an Xbox, but part of the chord that goes into the wall was missing. Management said they would bring it over that day and they never did and had no follow up even after another request. My brother in law accidentally left a couple of fishing poles and it has been very hard to get communication between the two of them to get returned. Beware if you accidentally leave anything. If I were heading back to the Lake of the Ozarks I would probably pick a different house just so I wouldn't have to deal with them again.
Beautiful cove and neighborhood had the place to ourselves throughout the week weekend is busy with people but all quite at 11 pm Pamela was on top of everything we needed we had a great family vacation not having TVs everywhere was a real plus we actually talked to each other !! We had family game nights! Lake time boat rental was great !
This house by far was the nicest house we have stayed in while at the Ozarks. The dock was great for parking our boat. The cove that the house is located at is located near Lake Burger and our favorite brunch spot Jolly Rogers. Definitely, will be staying here again in the near future if available.
This was our first time using a VRBO property during vacation and had an amazing experience. We will definitely be back. Everything was ready for us when we got to the property. Check in couldnât have been smoother. The home, yard, dock, etc. were very clean and extra amenities were stocked throughout.
We visited during a week that wasnât a busy period and found out many businesses were closed. The host found area businesses that were open and sent us contact information, saving us lots of time during our stay.
Pamela was a great host, easy to work with, quick with email responses, and eager to help if we needed anything.
