Even before arrival, Micheal was in conact with us. We stayed in condo 10. The condo was well equipped facing the ocean, no view but a short walk down the trail. (Pay attention for king tides, turns the trail into a bit of a marsh so wear hip boots). The property is well groomed and maintained. Even in December the grass was mowed and looked healthy. Definitely a money saver to have the kitchen. We were able to cook our own meals and saved well in restaurant spending. The property is pet friendly. There were dog bowls, towels, and even blankets for the fur babies. All in all, i give the Breakwater 10 out of 10 and will make this a regular weekend get away.
Pet friendly. Easy beach access. Comfortable. Newly updated. Bathroom is tny. Odd set up with 2nd bed sharing the living room. Great for a night or two. Key pad entry. Easy checkin.
Not what I expected from the advertising but it was clean and quiet which was the essential. Much farther from the beach than anticipated and no view of the beach from the window.
Breakwater is a great place to stay if you want a reasonably priced cottage near the beach in the Grayland - Westport area. The first cottage we stayed in was much too small but for the second night we were moved to an available larger one with a king bed. That was great. These are pretty basic units but the bed was comfortable and there is a decent kitchen. The beach is about 1/2 mile down a path or you can drive down the beach access road and go right onto the beach. If you are a clam digger or just a beach comber this is a great beach. Grayland is small and doesnât have much to offer. Westport at the end of the peninsula about 10 miles has more activities.
Nice, neat little unit, decorated nautical/mermaid style. Everything is clean and in good working order inside, and organized grounds with hot tub, playground, pickle ball court outside. Clear self check-in and check-out instructions and direct communication opportunity with management during the stay. Two grocery stores nearby great for refreshing supplies. The only notable disadvantage was the thin walls with noise clearly audible from even a well behaved smaller company, let alone a larger one with multiple small children.
Easy access walking to the beach. Good for getting your steps in for the day. The local bar is right down the road get food and drinks. Place was clean. Hot tub was clean and perfect addition to walking to the beach all day. Management was easy to communicate with. Few things need maintenance but over all breakwater is a good place to stay if you have dogs and children who love the beach. I would say if you have any walking ability issues this may not be the place to stay if you think you have easy beach access.
If I were rating the cottage alone my review would be 2. The blinds are not blackout so it gets insanely hot all day and you must leave all your windows open to cool off overnight. You can hear all traffic and roosters crowing in the morning. Then where the main bed was the sun shined in right on our face but not in a cute way but in a âholy moly Iâve gotten no sleep and now this!?â, way. The management company does not enforce rules they post right in your room.
When we got back from our day we parked and had unloaded our vehicle. We left and got dinner only to come back to no spot for our only vehicle despite the sign in our cottage claiming only one car per cottage allowed. I called their phone number listed, a lady blew me off saying park in the over flow parking itâs only a 3-5 minute walk from my cottage.
I explained that is not possible for who we are traveling with, didnât matter. They blamed the other cottage guests knowing the caretaker was the one who had their own guests take the whole parking area meant for all 4 cottages staying here. Not only did their guests take all the spots but all night long they came outside making noise(remember the windows all had to be open?) beeping their car horns, smoking, talking right next to our cottage⊠so by the time that sun came in and a rooster was crowing we were done!
You took what was supposed to be a break from medical issues and made it into a negative experience.
