A Perfect, Cosy Getaway with Thoughtful Touches

We had a truly delightful stay at Jack’s Shack. The cottage was cosy, welcoming, and had everything we needed for a comfortable break. The beds were especially comfortable, with lovely warm duvets that made it extra relaxing. We really appreciated the thoughtful touches, including the welcoming baskets, Easter eggs, and the treats for our dog Molly — she was very happy! I also spoke with our host, Caroline, who was absolutely lovely and made us feel very welcome. Thank you very much, Caroline — we had a wonderful stay.

Jacks Shack

My wife and I (+our dog)booked in for a week’s stay, house is situated right next to the dunes , which took you to a lovely beach. We really enjoyed our stay, house has everything you need, dogs are well catered for, dog bowls,bedding,towels. Stairs are a might steep, especially in the middle of the night, if you need to use the toilet (like I had to) There is a local shop, just around the corner, good local pub, Poppy's cafe come post office do a lovely breakfast. There is great cafe next to the beach, which we used every day, it has a cabin where you can sit and relax and meet other people, there is also a fish and chip shop. We will definitely be returning to Winterton later on this year

Perfect Christmas stay

Jack's Shack over and above met all our needs for a perfect Christmas Looked amazing when we arrived so festive and welcoming. Total comfort from sofas to beds. cosy and warm . Kitchen best equipped I have ever stayed in. Location was amazing straight onto the dunes. The added extras for the humans and dogs went over and above our expectations. Everything you need for a perfect seaside holiday with your dog.

Another return visit to the wonderful Jack's Shack and it didn't disappoint. Caroline has created a warm and welcoming gem in beautiful Winterton-on-Sea and has thought of everything you or your dog might need. This cosy, well-equipped cottage is in a great location, right on the dunes and with easy access to the beach, cafes, a shop and the best fish & chips in Norfolk! Thoroughly recommended.

Our second stay at Jacks Shack

We had another wonderful stay at this property. Situated right behind the dunes you can be on the spectacular beach within a few minutes. The property itself is very comfortable and welcoming. Beds are super comfy and Caroline caters for everything you would need. Garden has a Mediterranean and peaceful aura especially at night when the lights come on. Our furry ones love it here and 100% we will be back. Very relaxing.

Beautiful Cottage

Fantastic little cottage situated right behind the sand dunes at Winterton on Sea in Norfolk right by the beach . Lovely and cosy with everything you could want and more. Hosts provided a brilliant welcome basket for both humans and our excited dog, Jasper. Great little dog friendly village with a smashing pub and cafe . Would highly recommend recommend to any dog owner who wants a relaxing break but has a dog who loves swimming and meet people. Thank you so much for our wonderful stay xxx

Very relaxing for both Dogs and Humans

We all absolutely loved Jacks Shack. Caroline has thought of everything and the cottage was so well equipped and stocked. The location was perfect for us with everything we needed close by. We were blessed with excellent weather and spent many happy hours on the beach and swimming.

The perfect place to take a breath & chill

We have had a fantastic week staying at Jacks Shack which was in the perfect location for exploring the Norfolk coast. The cottage was clean, well presented & every comfort gad be thought of by the owner. This is the best holiday home we have stayed in.

This was one of the most relaxing , well thought out cottages I have ever stayed in. Not only did it have everything provided for us humans the dogs were well catered for too. You really only need bring yourselves and your dogs, everything is here for everyone from beds,bowls,crates,throws,towels for the dogs ,also treats and spare food if needed to a lovely welcome basket for humans, and the most comfortable cosy cottage. Everything is there ,spotlessly clean and comfortable , easy access to the dunes/ beach and sea with some beautiful walks, coffee shop, small shop and pub a few minutes walk too. Will 100% be booking again and would thoroughly recommend to everyone x

Winter break

Having stayed in the summer, I just loved Jacks’ and the location is perfect for my two ‘boys’ (whippet and small lurcher). Coming out of the cottage and straight onto the dunes means no roads to cross, and a vast expanse of dunes for them to run and sniff about on. Despite being November, we were lucky with the weather being unseasonably warm, and also able to go seal watching as they come onto the local beach to have their pups Jacks Shack is very well equipped and Caroline ensures there is everything you could need for a comfortable stay. I am already booked in again for next summer. Thank you again Caroline. Until 2026 …

Perfect

Jacks Shack is a fabulous cottage to stay in. Absolutely everything and more is provided , that you could possibly need for a great holiday and for the dogs - even emergency upset stomach dog food! Perfectly located right on the dunes and the village amenities a very short stroll away. Loved all the little decorative touches throughout the cottage and the conservatory was perfect to sit in, lovely and warm on a windy afternoon. Being able to drift off to sleep,in a super comfortable bed, listening to the sea was just perfect. The garden had several different seating areas and great for the dogs with high fences all round. Caroline, the owner was very helpful and sorted a small issue out immediately. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Wonderful to be back at Jack's Shack

Another wonderful visit to Winterton-on-Sea and Jack's Shack. Caroline has provided everything you could need for a dog-friendly holiday by the sea and the welcome basket is the best we have received at any rental property. Jack's Shack is virtually on the dunes making it so easy for humans and dogs to go for lovely walks from the doorstep regardless of the tides. The Seal View is a perfect place to stop for a coffee and the fish & chips from the Winterton Fish Bar are the best around!

Outstanding location

Jacks Shack was wonderful! We had a fabulous long weekend. Caroline had thought of every home comfort for us and the dogs, I have not stayed anywhere before where the dogs have been so well catered for. The cottage is lovely, calm, quiet and in the most amazing location.. we loved having the dunes and beach outside of our back door. I am already searching for dates to come back!

Superb accommodation

Superb accommodation that is super dog friendly and the owners seem to have thought of everything. Immediate access to the sand dunes and down to the shore from the property, so the car stays firmly parked the whole stay. Everything you could wish for in a pet friendly accommodation. Fabulous!

Pluto's holiday!

Since we have had our rescue dog, Pluto, it has become a 'tradition' to take him on the holiday he would choose for himself, and the Norfolk seaside is his favourite place! East Ruston Cottages are so wonderfully dog friendly, and Jack's Shack was also comfortable and luxurious. There was such a sense of generosity in the cottage, and we appreciated our welcome basket. The garden was beautifully designed and dog proof, even for Pluto who is well known as an escape artist. The location is particularly special. It was wonderful to cross the sand dunes and then walk for miles, so we didn't use our car while we were there. Thank you!

Amazing

What a brilliant place to stay. Everything down to the last tiny detail had been thought about and implemented. We took our 2 dogs and they absolutely loved it, there was just everything that you could think of for them to enjoy their stay. We were made to feel so welcome and the communication before hand was brilliant. We will definitely go back to Jack's Shack!! Thank you!!!
