The location was great, and the cabin was generally clean, but our overall experience was a bit stressful due to the pricing clarity and responsiveness. The “out the door” price shown on VRBO didn’t match what later appeared on my credit card – an additional booking/service fee was added in the host agency agreement. Since this was a last-minute trip, I signed the host agency contract after booking, trusting the VRBO price, and didn’t notice the mismatch until the credit card bill arrived. Once I saw the charge, I disputed it with my credit card company. After that, I followed up with the host agency and they confirmed they would refund it, though they also noted it was part of the contract I signed (added in the agreement, following the booking, rather than being reflected in the initial “out the door” total I relied on). In practice, the host agency didn’t respond through VRBO messaging at all through our stay, so I called after we left to get things handledOn arrival, a few essential supplies were missing or not fully stocked (including proper hand soap, and some kitchen/laundry items), which made it hard to follow the outlined house rules. I I messaged through the VRBO channel as things came up during the stay but no host agency response. To their credit, once I reached them by phone, the host company refunded the cleaning fee a few weeks after our stay. I’m rating this Good-resolved in the end; but hope VRBO takes note of how final pricing is presented with them.
