We had a wonderful night. The house had everything we needed. Getting in was easy and the house was conveniently located to the shops and pub where we had a lovely meal.
We were warned that this was a work in progress. The progress needs to be sped up if the owner expects people to stay there. It appears that there is insufficient finance and time being being put into the property to make it fit enough to be used as a holiday rental property. It has huge potential which can be only realised through sufficient investment in skills and finance.
Everything was as it showed on the listing. My friend with us described it as a cool house. It had everything we needed. A short walk to shop and the Hard Antler. Would definitely stay again.
House was just as advertised very homily with plenty of room, the weber BBQ was excellent to use. The weather was great no rain, you do have to open only the windows with the insect screens to avoid the sandflys, but the owner has plenty of notice to that effect.
The old Haast house was clean and had everything we needed. The air conditioning system seemed to work intermittently, it might need a service. This accommodation was perfectly located for west coast travel
We stayed one night in this house with my family. The communication with the host was great and the check in process is very easy. I would however say that this house would need some serious fixes and an overall renovation. For example, the windows do not open properly. Personally, I would not stay more than one night in this house.
I was able to access the property just fine. But when I arrived, there was an unmade bed, toothbrush & paste in the bathroom, the tub was dirty - it made me feel a bit uncomfortable.
Had a great meal at the Hard Antler.
